It started downhill in SR2, IMHO, but didn't get momentum until SR3.

yeh, i didnt realy mind sr3 that much, not nearly as much as i hated sriv and... that scum they scooped up and slapped the title Gat out of Hell on

This group just reminded me how sad I am at the lost of SR. I would even be happy if they went back to SR3 style ( though I prefer SR 2 by a wide margin), it was better than SR IV and that thing titled "Gat out of hell"

yeh, i played 3 first and i thought it was good, then i tried 4 and i couldnt stand it, then i tried 2 and eventually 1 and they were amazing. why did the series have to turn into this crap... when 3 came out, it still had hope to return to its roots and take notes of what went wrong. they said they would try to bring the old fans back. then 4 came out... some attempt at bringing the old fans back... at that point, sr was dead in my eyes. gat out of hell was just like beating a dead corpse for further disapointment and disrespect.

SR and SR2 was great! SR3 was mediocre and I haven't played SR4 because it looks like ♥♥♥♥. Don't get me started on Gat Out of Hell(or whatever its called).

I don't really like doing this kind of thing... But if anyone could get me saints row 2 that would be nice. I have been replaying and trying to beat saints row 1 right now. It has been a lot of fun fighting all the gangs! My fav is the los carnales. I use to have saints row 2 and I beat it sometime ago and logged in many hours. These games were so good when I first played them and trying to make your own game to rule a city was a very new idea to me which made me have to play them. Now saints row is just for laughs and to do "Crazy" stuff. Makes me sad to think about what if they kept with the old and just improved on that. Anywho it would be very nice. Godspeed everyone.

No game will ever be able to match the charm that Stilwater had, or the thought put into the writing or the unique and memorable characters that Saints Row 1 and 2 had.

I loved Saints Row 1 and Saints Row 2 evem more. Saints Row 3 was okay I guess, but they totally lost their ♥♥♥♥ with Saints Row IV and on.

Nope, I don't know exactly but I believe DeepSilver ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the series up. The games were great until they got involved. Either way, I doubt whoever is in control of the series gives a ♥♥♥♥ about the old fans like us. We may not be able to change the series, but we can persuade others not to spend money on games that have no effort put into them.

Ty for inviting me to this. I've always wondered to my self what SRTT and SRIV would be like if they where like the other 2. In my opinion the devs jerked off a lot of great ideas that could of been added instead of this sci fyi ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. So I'm glad to be in this group.

I support this group's goal/ideals wholeheartedly. Thank you for adding me, 謎64. SR1 and 2 had their bit of silliness, but they still had the realism enough to be taken seriously. SR2 was my favourite of all time for those reasons. :scythe:

I personally hated Sr3, i pre-ordered it because i thought it would be more like Sr2.
And not some poor joke gangs story with allot of childish sexjokes.. killing the characters personalities that really made Saints row unique.
No one likes sell outs and corperate ♥♥♥♥♥♥....
Where the f- did volition get the idea that this was a good thing to do...

Its stupid that their afraid to compete with Rockstar.
Cause for a game with a smaller budget, Sr1 and Sr2 were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good compared to the GTA series.
They could of easily competed if they just expanded the game more instead of a ridiculous haul over.

Its a shame that even after all the bad reviews about Sr3, that they considered it a succes because of the number of pre-sales it had.
And ever since they have been replacing good content with bad content and removing content from the game up to a point where you can only play as Gat or Kinzie....

I hope they run out of business for ruining one of my favorite titles...

I'll try to elaborate :D

I know a lot of people are centering the problem in the over-the-top humor and crazy nonsense story and I understand that this can be very annoying but, in my opinion, the real problem is that SR4 is a very weak game in pure gameplay terms.

Super-powers and the "virtual reality" city totally break the inmersion of the game, you can argue that inmersion is not important in some games (like pong?) but why model an entire detailed city just to be jumping from roof to roof the 85% of the game? I don't get it.

Playing this game feels like you're "farming" the city, like "kill ten rats" in any MMORPG.

I think Saints Row 2 is the best of the series (even if it's full of bugs and a terrible pc port), but I really enjoyed SR 3...

The problem comes with SR 4. I personally don't have any problem with the over-the-top humor and the crazy story, even for the first two or three hours I really enjoyed the game with the super-powers, but at some point everything started to be annoying and boring to me (I really don't know why) and I simply "disconnected" from the game.

It's weird because I have been playing this saga with my wife since SR2 and we really loved the coop, when we started to use the super-powers in SR4 we thought "This is going to be awesome!" but two hours later everything looked false, boring and repetitive for us.
