This Week In Gaming (14/02/16)

Hello Friends. This is a new thing i'm planning to do once every Sunday if possible where i mention whats been happening in the World of Gaming for that week. I've had an extremly busy couple months into this new year but for now i hope and plan to come back strong and get some good games going.

For this first week i'll start things off simple.

TOP PIRATE GROUP 3DM SUSPENDS NEW CRACKS TO MEASURE IMPACT ON SALES

It looks like Denuvo is really making an impact on the pirate world. I feel this might be pretty interesting to see if the games that don't get cracked actually boost in sales compared to the developers previous game. Might be hard to work out how many people actually buy games now a days with digital disrebution and physical sales still in effect, I'll keep my eye on it for 2017. I do feel however they are having an extremley hard time with cracking the software but if we see little to no change in sales, this will prove to them piracy doesn't effect big publishers and that PC gaming should be looked at as a main platform in the world of gaming.

DARK SOULS III POTENTIALLY LOCKED TO 30FPS/1080P

This is rather an older source but still one to be looked at and one i recently discovered. People are worried on the steam community of DSIII wondering about the frame rate lock. FROM and BANDAI seem to be pretty quiet about the PC version. Of course many wouldn't mind a 30fps lock but after the success of Dark Souls II on PC running at 60fps on resolutions far beyond 1080p it would be strange to see a downgrade happen to the Frame Rate and maximum resolution. If you're a fan of the Soul series this is something to maybe consider before a pre-order, However they did mention they are hoping to match the same performance of Dark Souls II.

NEW MODDED FALLOUT 4 TEXTURE PACK LOOKS FANTASTIC

This is something for all fallout 4 fans to try. Some incredible stuff happened this week in the modding scene. Even though we don't have any G.E.C.K to do some proper custom modding a modder by the name of 'Hein84' has released two new texture packs and updated his first one which update the games tree's and rocks. Its strongly suggested to use all 3 of his mods as not only do these textures look better, they are less demanding than the original Vanilla textures used.

UBISOFT IS RE-EXAMINING THE ASSASIN'S CREED FRANCHISE

We had a feeling there wouldn't be a main AC game come out for this year but now this has been officially confirmed on the 11th of this month. It seems both Unity and Syndicate where not up to the players expectations and i don't blame them. 4 Was an amazing game with huge potential for ship battles. Imagine some online ship battles, That would be amazing and i'm not even too keen on the franchise. I hope maybe they'll have a look at japan for their next game. Since they are stepping back and re-evaluating everything about it i'd imagine a pretty big change for 2017. Perhaps a new engine? Or one of the most far out locations ever. I wish them well getting the Franchise some life again. If mario can do it i'm sure Ubisoft can try. They seem to be listening more to gamers and even us on the PC.

QUANTUM BREAK REVEALED FOR PC! IS NOT COMING TO STEAM, WINDOWS STORE ONLY (WIN10)

As with 98% of XBOX ONE XCLUSIVES this one is coming to PC too! It actually looks pretty amazing. Certainly one i'll need to consider giving a shot however Microsoft are doing absolutely Everything in their power to try and stop me from supporting their MS Studio's Games. Reading the article i'm sourcing this information from i can see there is a huge problem with the WINDOWS 10 Store. For some weird reason any games purchased from there will not support SLI nor will they support third party overlay apps such as FRAPS. This is a massive downer and the sort of thing that encourages piracy in the first place. I'm not a user of SLI or Crossfire but i do know there are a large minority of players who would like to use the power they've paid for.

HITMAN (2016) USING DIRECTX 12, DETAILS REVEALED

For a while its been known that AMD is going to be able to take advantage of DX12 a bit better than nVidia can at this moment. Perhaps this is due to the XBOX ONE using Modified AMD components from 2012. AMD apparently has something called Asynchronous Compute Engines which allow the game to handle heavier workloads and give out better image quality. This is not going to be the first game with ACE support but it will be the most advanced of its kind when its released. With AMD & DirectX 12 PC gamers will be able to gain new power from their hardware that could never be reached in DirectX 11 It will be supporting ultrawide resolutions, multi-monitor set ups as well as super-sample anti-aliasing for the best possible AA quality. I look forward to the finished version thats due to release late this year!
