They have given Microsoft chance after chance to open their platform to allow user/creator freedom to update all Valves games across the 360 platform. Sony have given them the chance to bring the Steam client to PS3, thus giving console owners the same perks that we as PC user have had for years now through Steam. Free updates, fantastic community and user generated content hopefully. Not to mention and god willing update to the PS3 orange box that will give PS3 owners the chance to see it the way it was meant to played.

I think this all happened because microsoft refused to allow free major updates. Sony decided to take Valve with a deal they wanted. Hopefully Microsoft will intervene!
