Anniversary Month!

This month is our anniversary month! As such, we will be having tons of events!

The first event up that will be starting today is the guild quiz, or...something! A question, or a fact will be given on the FB group on Mon/Wed/Fri. It will be about the guild or the history of the guild. This is so more members are aware of the history, and can also participate by answering if they know the answer!

Sounds like a long explanation, but yeh. Hope this is fun for you guys and you learn a bit more about the guild you didn't know before!

Introducing a new admin...Icecoldbaby

So, as many of you know, we have no admins. At all. Zip. Zilch. Zero. Nada.

Moe aka icecoldbaby has consistently shown me he has the capabilities to be an admin. He has recruited, taken an active interest in apps and new members, been active in-game and on Skype, and has just shown that he has a way with people with his long list of friends outside of the guild. I firmly believe that he is what I'm looking for in an admin, work wise.

My only concern was the attitude expectations that come with being an admin. I am very strict on the attitudes my admins display inside the guild, and even more so outside the guild. From an outside perspective, you're an admin of this guild, your attitude matters even more so for public appearances because you have proven you are responsible enough for certain privileges. You're next in charge when I am not there, so you're to handle things in a professional, calm manner. There is no room for error when it comes to this. I want my admins to be mature, kind, and above all professional.

Now I know I wrote this long ass paragraph, and now its gonna be a pain to read, but it is just to give more information on what I expect.

Moe can hit all of these points, however, he likes to call people out when they have done something wrong. I don't consider that bad if its inside the guild, but outside the guild, I would prefer it just be ignored. This was my one and only worry.

So Moe, thank you for showing interest in being admin, and I appreciate all the help you have done for this guild, for me, and will continue to do so as you are now Administrator of Lux Tenebris.

Alright so, a while back(like beginning of August), I had took the site off as a required sign up. Facebook and steam groups had then become the new "sites."

I had thought that it would be much more simpler, and people would actually engage more on the steam group because very many of our members have Steam. However, the group site forums didn't seem to engage others, and overall I was dissatisfied with this approach.

So you might be asking why not just move back to luxtguild.com? This website has been a huge project for me as a web developer/designer/whatever(I honestly do not know the difference since they seem to overlap in some areas, and I cannot classify myself solely in one or the other). It has come a long way, and I really like what it has become. We have moved from SMF(Simple Machines Forum) to Joomla(CMS) to Wordpress(CMS). Those have all been one big project for me, and you can see how much I have learned if you went through all of those new directions of the site.

I know I am a difficult person to work with when it comes to websites since I seem to change according to what is new, and what my wallet can keep up with. I had hoped to find a job this summer, but nooope :( Thus this site cannot stay up. In addition, keeping with my "simple" approach lately, we are moving back to luxt.shivtr.com. Some of you were not there when we used shivtr, so it might not be "moving back" for you, but yes this is an old site that I have updated very recently. Adblocker helps to block the ads(to make it look better), but if you would like to show support for shivtr, by all means do not do this.

By no means are you required to sign up at this site since events/news will also be posted here. However, applications, and information available on forums will remain on there. Oh and there is a gallery, that actually functions well(lawl). In addition, this is a second priority site, so any info may come later.

Steam & Facebook Group

I feel like our steam group and facebook group are not really being utilized how I would have liked. Due to this, I am considering moving back to a website as being our main thing, and putting the groups back as secondary options.

LUXT Steam Group!

Welcome to the new Lux Tenebris steam group! I figured that this is a good way for old and new members to connect. In addition, Steam offers really great features in these groups so it makes it a viable alternative to the site.

I will be moving some content over from our site to here this week, and everything important that is posted on our website, or FB group, will be posted here too.

If you have any tips or recommendations if there is something else I should do, let me know!
