Detective Grimoire
I just saw we reviewed Detective Grimoire. I just bought the game two weeks ago myself and i was a bit disappointed. Although it was funny and as the review says there is very good voice acting, the game took my only about 3h to finish and there wasn't anything challenging about it. I do not regret buying it because it was on sale and I had some good laughs but all in all i expected more from it. It runs smoothly on gnu however, only the achievments don't work.

How about you? Did it meet your expectations? Did the achievments work for you? Anything else to ad ;P ?
(There are probably not a lot of people here who have played it since it is a hidden gem after all but it might be worth having its own threat to talk about it.)

I feel the (my) review addresses your two major concerns quite well... :)
"A short and easy detective game..."

The game isn't of the kind I would say you need to play (you do need to play Antichamber, e.g.!), but more of the kind that might offer you a pleasant Sunday afternoon.(*) We might discuss if that's not enough for a recommendation, but I think as long as shortcomings, like a short play time, are addressed, it's fine.

The achievments worked well for me. I even thought about adding that it's not hard to 100%, but I guess that's not important to most of our readers (and rightfully so). I played it quite some time ago, maybe it broke later on?

(*) I tend to appreciate games that can be played in one sitting, lately...

it's worth a recommendation because you would recommend it, that is already enough, i didn't try to argue against it. :)

I liked your sentence about the game being something for kids as well. I didn't think about it but you are absolutely right. Although it is about something serious (a murder case), it still is more about funny characters and a riddiculus suspect.

that's exactly what i did with it :D I was bored on a sunday, saw in my wishlist that it is on sale and just went for it.

I got them in Steam as well:
"9 von 9 (100 %) Errungenschaften erreicht"
Srrange. Shouldn't be something to easily break after it already worked...

yeah sometimes steam does that to us. i often have that problem with chat messages

lol, yeah your right about that, and the simpsons make lovely fun about that fact with ichy and scratchy
