Binding Codes to Keys

You can bind codes to different keys on your keyboard in order to save time and not have to repeatedly type into console.

Step 1: Open console and type in the following code.

Step 2: Example: bind 1 "give ammo"

Explanation: You can put any key where the 1 is located in the example. You must use the parenthesis around the command your putting in. You can put any command in the parenthesis. This works good for spawning items, multiple defences, and zombies.

Fun Tip: Bind the "boom" command to a key, then go into "noclip" mode. Create your own enormous artillery barrage on the zombies.

Codes for Editing Items You Placed:
ent_remove (removes object that crosshairs are pointing at, works for almsot anything, caution can delete players)
ent_rotate # (put any number in the # spot, 90 works best or 45)
prop_dynamic_create (goes in front of any object you wish to place in the game)

Ok people, this will start our list of codes. FIrst I will give you a basic run-through of using the console in the game.

Step 1: If it is your first time using the console in Left 4 Dead, you will begin by opening up the start menu in-game. Click on options, then click on keyboard/mouse, then click enable developer console.

Step 2: Next, if you are planning to use codes and yes, technically they are cheats, even if they don't always help you. You will want to start your own game, and start it on a local server. Only local servers let you use console commands.

Step 3: Ok so you started the game on a local server... Next you want to open the console. Hit the ` button on the top left part of your keyboard. This should open up the console.

Step 4: In order for you to get cheats working, you have to type the following command into the console. sv_cheats 1 This code allows cheats to work in your current game. to turn it off just type in. sv_cheats 0

Step 5: Ok so you got your cheats working, and now your free to type in any codes you want for your enjoyment. I'll help you learn the basic ones and the more complex ones aswell.

Other Information:
--To turn off any cheat, put a 0 after it. This is only for cheats where you put a 1 after the code to turn it on.
--If you do too many of a certain code, the server will crash.
