Jack, if you want to play the passing offline you gotta go to your L4D2 folder and rename your addons folder. The problem is caused by custom content interfering with the L4D2 files. Just rename your addons folder to "Addons 1" and when you want them back, change the name back to "Addons".
Annoying and tedious, but it's all that can be done

Something to do with local files, The Passing is broken to hell in single player or listen servers, but official and best available dedicated servers work just fine.

What do they need to update?

I love how no effort is being made to fix the "failed to load bot teenangst" or whatever crash...
Seriously, I've seen hundreds of people with this crash, Valve, fix it sometime this century will ya?

I have it on Xbox 360 also. I barely play Steam anymore until the L4D DLC 3 will come out.

It ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucked Bill died, but I love the M60 and the Golf Club. I only play it on the XBOX 360 because the version in my laptop won't run because there's an error with the model of Zoey and Francis. Also the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool fallen survivor attacks me most of the time instead of running away.

I've contacted Valve asking when the L4D Comic/ DLC 3 would come out, all I got was the response

"Thank you for contacting Valve, however, due to the sheer volume of email we get on a daily basis, we may not personally be able to respond to your inquiry".

I completely agree. That's what compelled the creators of "Crash course" to make it short: So a complete versus game isn't too far-fetched.

Something I like about it being short, I can play through a versus campaign in a reasonable time. Playing through a whole campaign of 5 levels is a long time man, plus people will be more inclined to stick with it I think. It's cool when you don't want to commit a long time to campaign.

Sorry you guys about kband 4's announcements if he bothered anyone of you guys. (The Steam Coming to Mac one & the Left 4 Dead 3 one)

For example, I expected more exposition on the l4d survivors. I expected a newer finale(insted of a rip from dead center). Although, I can't complain, it WAS free, so it's all fun. But I expected a little bit more.

Not to start a war or anything, but what did they promise we didn't get? I expected something different, but it was just the concept in my mind based on what I read.

I know it's free. But what Valve promised, and what we got, was completely different.

I thought The Passing was great, short and sweet, replayable just for the interactiong between the two groups alone.

However, I can't help but agree. Like Crash Course, it didn't live up to the hype it created...

You should be happy Valve gives PC users Free Content. Take a look at EA, They charge money for a SKIN DLC for Battlefield Bad Company 2. Seriously. A game developer that wants people to charge for skins.
Everyon hyped as ♥♥♥♥ and wants to buy it.

A Game Developer makes a FREE DLC with tons of new stuff. And ofcourse there is a cry baby or a whiner about the content!

I think we all forget something......it's f***ing FREE. How many companies do this with their games. Give some respect amd thanks man, such a sense of entitlement some people have... I say 8/10

Well, that was dumb.

The missions? No more then 25 minutes long. The "L4d exposition" that was promised? Zero. They were no more then cardboard cutouts. The enviroments? A repeated urban enviroment with generic rain. The golf club? No more then a bat. The M60? No more then a turret. The finale'? No more then "Dead centers' Scavange-type finale.


It's a shame Valve and the community made such a big deal out of this. Hopefully the mutations will improve it. Good thing l4d2 was a good base game to start with.

It should say so in the recent steam news, where they shout out updates and releases and such. Valve owns steam, so they'll make a big deal out of it. Still, this is valve, I wasn't putting to much hope into the release date

When it is out its going to install immediately right? For PC I mean. How do we check to see that its out?
