Down With the Censor!!!

Left 4 Censor is a group for Aussies and Germans who are stuck with the censored version of left 4 dead 2 and are using the 510 appid fix to get gore.
But sometimes this can be hard to get a good game together especially for versus and scavenge due to the small amount of people who play it.
It's up to us to uncensor everyone!

Hopefully soon we get a fair amount of players and can start organising events and maybe even set up a server or two.

For those who have joined the group and don't know how to uncensor your L4D2 do this:
Open up \steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\
Find steamappid.txt and open it up. Change 550 (Left 4 Dead 2's appID) to 510 (Left 4 Dead Dedicated server's appID). Save that and close it.
Now goto \steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2\
Find steam.inf (a configuration file, notepad icon with a yellow cog) and change appID=550 (last value) to appID=510.
Now when you want to play it, you have to launch it via \steam\steamapps\common\left 4 dead 2\left4dead2.exe because steam will just launch Left 4 Dead 2 if you launch via steam.

This is a tool I've created that will allow you to censor, uncensor and launch L4D2 with a click of a button (technically 3).

Either drop that into your left 4 dead 2 folder or anyother location and follow the instructions in the "directory.txt' file.

Y'all mutha ♥♥♥♥♥♥ need free DLC. Valve has released the uncut parts as free DLC for L4D2!

I'm commenting in case any people are searching google how to get the uncut version on their account, when they have the censored version.

I was able to get the uncut version on my steam account, by asking steam support to remove l4d2 from my account(i had the censored aussie version). I then bought l4d2 from greenmangaming(it was on sale for $5)(you can use any store that's not aussie or german) and put in the cdkey. it gave me the uncut version.

Well i followed the instructions posted above, as the tool no longer works. The instructions above do work but it complains about not being a secure connection and then wont allow you to join any multiplayer games, stating that it cannot find any games. However, Single player does work with the gore. is there any way around the unsecure message to allow me to play online?

Yeah, I will try the censor tool if nothing else works but want to play online - I know with uncut patch you can still play online... .

In Australia, here, have a problem with the left 4 dead 2 uncut patch. Extracted it from zip folder and run as admin. but crashes on launch saying 'left4uncut.exe' has stopped working and only option there is to close. Everytime. Am I installing it right or what. Really annoying and I want to be able to play uncensored. I know a lot of people have this problem but is there any solution/fix or suggestions you could make? Thanks.
