I think the game is still pretty active in Japan, dunno how the english community is but it's still around. It's less of a pain to download because the reddit keeps a torrent of the latest big release, and there's still translations i think.
iirc you need VPN on the whole time you play unless you do some easy thing in the command line

So from watching some streams I've gathered that at character creation you have access to the same 4 classes from the beta: Fighter, Hunter, Priest, and Shield Sage. Sorcerer (and I'm assuming Seeker, though I haven't seen it in action yet) is unlocked through questing. Once you complete the quest, it becomes available for your character and I believe your pawns.

Yeah it definitely appeared to be an alchemist. A ton of FMA feelings from it.

Somebody pointed out that the effect during the new vocation's attack looked similar to the armor the Alchemized Skeletons they showed off were wearing. Some sort of Alchemist class that fights using that gauntlet, maybe?

Game pre-load is available, though at this point there isn't much point unless you snagged a Limited Edition.
