Actually I just went back to check my information to make sure I wasn't giving false information and am embarassed to admit I was completely wrong there.

Apparently the issue is resolved by simply shutting down Steam after using Idlemaster (so both programs are off), then reload Steam by itself. From here on you can play the VAC games until you next use Idlemaster (at which point, rinse and repeat).

Hi, I was searching for easy ways to level up and bumped into idlemaster's website then i searched for how to use and this thread came up that saying Valve triggers VAC if idlemaster is used.

Could you tell me if idlemaster is safe to use? Also will i get any VAC bans using this?

You will not be VAC banned and Idlemaster is safe. This thread is discussing a trend in which you will need to close down steam after using Idlemaster due to Valve changing their system to pick up idler programs arbitrarily. Resetting Steam seems to rectify the situation from reports.

Noob programmer obviously added 'steam idlers' to the list which is obviously pointless as idle master can't be used to cheat.

Solution is simple, either blacklist your vac game in idle-master or don't use idle-master whilst playing vac game.

I don't have the habit of idling during gaming, but once in every while I get kicked from csgo, and am unable to find a dota 2 game, where a message pops up and prevents me from playing.

No, but from reports using it seems to leave a "trace" which can be picked up by VAC. It is removed upon performing a file verification of the game and/or VAC program.

Simply removing idle master doesn't fix the issue because of this.

This is why we say not to run idlemaster with vac games...

When i start IM it always says idling complete

Means you need to actually have card drops remaining. Go buy more games or join giveaways.

It works based on what the developer sets.

So anywhere between 5 minutes and 4 hours.

Make sure both are running with admin mode off.

Also don't post "Up" to bump your thread 1 minute after you friggin posted it, it makes you look like a bot and people less likely to help.

"Cheating" as in "Not following proper procedures". It's not against the rules, but it's not quite what Valve intended either.

The first part of his post showed he did.

Idlemaster is NOT in development. Jshackles made 1 update to make it work again after steam totally obliterated it with a change in code, thereby allowing it to continue functioning as it used to, but he's not making new stuff.

Check your games. It looks like you got a pile of games which don't have cards at all and the ones which SHOULD be valid for cards all have enough time played on them that you likely have unlocked all your cards for them already.

If you still disagree, please screenshot your badges page showing the games which are supposed to be showing up. If they say (X cards remaining) then we'll move on to figuring out this mystery. Until you have that to show for it, I'm afraid my default is to assume user error (since 9/10 times it usually IS)
