Do you get Foil Cards drops with Idle Master? How often it occurs?

I've gotten ~150 cards over the last few days. One of them was a foil card. I once had 3 foil cards drop for the same game using idle master one night. They do drop with the program.

I currently have around 4500 cards in my inventory, and about 75 of them are foil. But I've also made over 225 badges, and sold a few thousand cards as well. I'd guess I've had 15000 cards drop total, at least, so only 75 of them being foil means that foil drops are an extremely low drop rate... 0.5% or so is what my limited sample size says (or 1 in 200).

Use a sandbox, like Sandboxie. Download and install a second instance of Steam and IM in the sandbox.

Not quite true. Once you've idled a game to receive all of the card drops available, you won't get any more cards by idling. You can get at most half the card drops (rounded up) by idling. So if a game has 5 cards, you get three drops. That could be the same card, three times, or three different cards, or even foil cards. After you've received all the possible drops for the game, you become eligible to get a booster pack for the game. But booster packs drop very rarely.

This is normal. Read the trading card FAQ. Basically, from idling, you can get at most, half of the cards for a game (rounded up for games with odd numbers of cards). The rest you need to get from the market, trading, or hoping they drop in a booster pack that you might get just because you're online.

Due to Steam's refund policy, many (if not all) games with cards require a minimum of 2 hours of idling or playing before cards drop. This is so people don't get all the cards and then return the game.

Card drop times changed for most games once Valve implemented their return policy.

When I last used Idle Master, once there was only one drop remaining, it automatically switched the check to 5 minutes. Is there a reason you'd need it to drop down to 5 minutes before then?

@Sepioth, there is a way to do it in the client, and what the OP is asking is if you do it in the client, will it mess up things for Idle Master. Unfortunately for the OP, I don't know the answer to that. If someone does know, but the way the initial post was confused them, what the question rehashed is

"If after loading Idle Master, I go into the client, open my friends list, and set my status to offline (aka invisible), will that still show me as offline to my friends while allowing Idle Master to continue to drop cards?"

My gut feeling is yes, but I don't know for sure.

You can only earn half the cards for a set by playing (or idling) a game, unless it is a free-to-play game.
