You can try writing to Support. I've never heard of someone who cared enough to try and fix that so I'm not sure the best method.

The skip function was broken in the latest version, should be fixed next update.

F2P games do not give drops just for adding them to your library, if you want drops from a F2P game you must spend 9$US for each drop. This applies to all F2P games, not just TF2 and DotA2.

1) Open a command prompt. I posted a link that shows how to do that for various versions of Windows.
2) Enter the full path to Steam-Idle.exe followed by the AppID of the game. I do not have the Windows version so i can't be certain what it is, but my example should be close. You can open up a My Computer window and try and track it down.


With 161 hours of playtime, 19 hours within the past 2 weeks, I'd assume you have received all of your free cards which would mean further idling is pointless.

Non-F2P games like CS:GO only give half (rounded up) of the total number of cards in the set. In the case of CS:GO, it has 5 cards in the set so you only get 3 cards from playing it. Trading/Selling/Using those cards will not grant you additional/replacement cards.

Playing after you have received your cards does not increase your odds of getting a booster pack from that game.

Which is best depends on what you're trying to accomplish, how many games you have and how many of those games you want to receive cards/playtime from.

If you just want to increase your listed playtime, using the command line is best since it won't turn off once you have ~4 hours of playtime (a rough estimate of how long it takes to receive all your cards from an average game). For this you'll need to know how to open a Command Prompt[www.7tutorials.com], the path to Idle Master and the AppID for whatever game you want to run.
The path to IM depends on where you installed it, but should be along the lines of "c:\Programs Files (x86)\Idle Master\steam-idle.exe"

Once you have an open command line and the relevant data, start the program. Using the the provided info idling you would do this by entering
into the command prompt.

If you just want to idle a select few of games for their cards, depends on how many games you have, how many you want cards from and your preference in initial time investments. 1 game out of 300 would be a lot easier to use the command line. 299 games out of 300 would be better to use normal Idle Master operation. The black list is a pain to set up but it is saved across sessions so you won't have to redo it if you add more STC enabled games to your library that you want cards from.

You need 2 hours of playtime before normal card drop timer start, this is to prevent abuse of the return policy. During the initial 2 hour window you can run multiple games with no penalty and by default Idle Master will run up to 30 games simultaneously (Steam can only track 30 simultaneous games).

After clearing the 2 hour window, most games will drop 1 card roughly every 30 minutes, but this timer is set by the game's developer and can be as high as 1 card every hour. There is an element of random chance to this timer. Running multiple games at the same time will result in fewer drops, if it doesn't completely prevent them. By default IM will only run 1 game at a time since that is more efficient.

Starting with a brand new game, most will give their first drop around 2.5 hours, but can take up to 3 hours. How long it takes to get all your free cards from that game would depend on how many cards are in the set. How long to get all your free cards from all your STC enabled games would further complicate the answer by needing to know how many games you have.

And just to clarify a common misunderstanding, you only get half (rounded up) of the number of cards in a games set. Duplicates will count against that number. Trading/Selling/Using those cards does not allow you to get additional/replacement cards.

You can black list all the other games, or you can manually select a game.
Blacklisting will allow IM to stop idling once it has received all of your free cards. Manually selecting a game will keep IM running even if you have no drops remaining, in case you want to up the reported playtime.

Can Idle Master be used to pad my playtime of a particular game?

The steam-idle.exe application that's included with Idle Master can be given a command line argument of the appid of the game you'd like to idle. For example, if you'd like to idle Team Fortress 2 for playtime, you can simply run "steam-idle.exe 440" from a command prompt. There is no user interface for this, it must be done through the command line.

Which game was it? Out of your recently played games only Bit Dungeon 2 and Resident Evil 6 have close to that amount of play time (2.4 and 2.6 hours respectively), and you have some cards from RE6. Even at the standard ~30 minutes drop rate it's possibly Bit Dungeon was closed before you received your first drop, and it's possible it's set closer to the 1 hour per drop.
