If you did not connect to a VAC enabled server then the VAC check should not have started.

Go to your Badges page and check how many games have drops remaining.

If you've refunded a game, there is a 2 hour wait time. If you have not refunded a game, then you do not have the wait time.

IM does not check specific games, it checks your badges page to see if you have any drops. If you want IM to idle F2P games you'll need to add them to your Library.

That is assuming you're talking about the handful of bugged F2P games that don't require spending money to receive drops. Most F2P games that are part of the STC system do not give any drops just for adding them to your Library, instead they provide 1 drops for every $9 you spend in their in-game store.

Then there has been no indication that Valve has changed its stance on IM. Lack of updates from IM will have no impact on Valve's views regarding IM's legality.
