The app doesn't launch and play any of your games. It's just sends a message to Steam saying the game is running...

Haha! I never thought of it like that! Also, 50 hours over the span of 30 or 40 days is negligible...

It's only a problem on the last drop, where it wastes 5 minutes waiting for the drop-check, even though the card has already dropped. No biggie if you are only idling a few games, but I have over 600 games in my drop-queue right now! That's equivalent to having it running for an extra (unnecessary) 50 hours!

Just a thought - from what I can gather, the game starts to 'play' at the same time the 'next check' timer starts to count down. This means that if the card drops after ten minutes, the 'next check' might not capture the drop as they are happening concurrently. To solve this, you could start to 'play' the game, but force the 'next check' timer to delay starting by about ten seconds.

This would allow the potential drop to take place ten seconds before the check, so it should not miss it and waste another 5 minutes looping back around again before it detects the drop...

I didn't explain it very well, but hopefully you know what I mean!
