The only way to find out if you will have issues is to try to use it. I have been using it since release with very little issues so far. While it is not perfect the program does what it says it is supposed to do. I think some of the issues people are having have to do with something on Valve's end as I have been hearing reports of people having issues with their badge pages in the client.

About VAC bans....
So far as far as I know no one has been banned, VAC or otherwise, for using Idle Master.
BUT with any software of this nature it is "Use At Your Own Risk".

It is highly suggested that you do not run Idle Master while playing any games, VAC enabled or not. There is the remote possibility though that a VAC enabled game could see IM as a cheat/hack program and trigger a VAC ban.

Also make sure you are getting it from the official website .. http://www.steamidlemaster.com/ and not some youtube links.

Can you open multiple games at once?

Idle Master is easier than SAM.

You download IM, run it, and sign in. It does all the idling and game switching automatically. As far as I know SAM does not automatically switch games for you so you can't just run it and let it sit in the background without monitoring it manual for card drop completion.

card drops will not happen until you have 2 hours of game playtime in that game.

Idle Master is not a game. Tou do not play anything with it.

It is used to Idle for cards the games you own and have paid for to make it easier to get the cards to drop. It allows you to "trick" Steam in to thinking you have downloaded the game and are actually running / playing it.

It saves you time by automatically switching from game to game that you still have free card drops in as well as saving time by not having to download the game.

Free to Play games will only give free card drops if you have bought DLC or In Game purchases for the game. For every $9 USD you will get one free card drop.

Games that you paid for DO NOT have unlimited free card drops.

While I am not an admin here I do post frequently here to try to help. I am also a long time user. Been using it since it's public release.

The program is safe and free of viruses. Just make sure you download it from his websites.

The source code is openly available so if anything was malicious it would have been found a long time ago. Also this Steam Group would most likely be removed if IM was unsafe.

Just do not use it while palying another game. The amount of time it takes to get a card drop is increased when more than one game is running. Also if you play VAC enabled games they could potentially see this as a "hack" or unauthorized program and get you a VAC ban. While there is no concrete proof of this ever happening why take the risk.

Just remember that this software is "Use At Your Own Risk" While there have been no known issues from people using IM there has also been no response from Valve on it's use. So there si nothing to say that in the future Valve will try to stop people from using it, but hopefully with a warning first :)

Running one game, with or without cards, will just affect the drop rate of the game that has cards not make then never drop. Running multiple games makes it take longer for each game to drop it's cards after the 2 hour mark.

Card drops are not unlimited. Each game has a set amount of free card drops. After that yiu need to buy or trade tehm.

That means you have no games to get cards from anymore .. you already got all the free drops for your games.
