This is a Steam issue, many of us have had this occur from time to time.

You have to just wait it out unfortunately.

Connection issues at the college campus, could also be that the admin for the college network does this on purpose so you can't stay connected for extended periods of time.

Not sure if there are any keep-alive work arounds but you could ask the campus system admins and see if there is a way around this or see if this is a network issue that they are not aware of perhaps.

This most likely is the cause, double check those 55 games you are referring to.

If any free or free to play games are on the list, you have to purchase in-game items to recieve any card drops.

This happens to me from time to time as well, I usually wait a bit and try again and then Steam Idle Master logs into my account once more.

I had this issue twice in a row, on the third time it worked fine, not sure what that means or if it helps anybody.

Exactly, I have one idling right now, Blood & Gold Caribbean and it's been idling for over 4.2 hours now, first card has not dropped yet :(

I log back in and all is good to go.
