How long it takes depends on how many games you have drops for and which games. Each game requires 2 hours of playtime before you can receive cards from playing/idling. Once you have 2 hours of playtime, the rate you receive cards depends on what the game's developer set it at. Most games are set at 1 card every ~30 minutes, but some games are set at 1 card every ~1 hour.
