All I get now is Steam is running. Go to sign in with details and it no longer prompts for a code.
says its saving details and does nothing.

I am having the same issue. For the past week, Idle Master reports that "Steam is not running" even though it is. Also, "Idle Master is not connected to Steam" despite several login attempts.

I honestly think its stuffed now since there have been updates to steam. Idle Master would need updating too to work with the current build of steam.

Put the Idle Master folder in C:.. worked for me..
