It also doesnt give you any more cards on top of the set number per game

The program doesn't automatically get you badges. It idles in games that you can still get trading cards from. You're never able to get all the cards you need for a badge from just drops. You need to buy some.
For example, the game Particula's badge requires 7 cards. But you can only get 4 cards as drops from the game.
This program doesn't increase the amount of cards you can get. To get badges you'll need to trade for the cards you didn't get as drops.
