Using IM with CS:GO
Is there any risk to get VAC ban while using IM to idle CS:GO but not actually playing the game?

Don't play on VAC servers while using IM and you're 100% safe.

Yes that's the answer of your question.

As long as you don't use the IM while you are playing in a VAC server on CS:GO you're safe, you can play on servers that don't use VAC servers while using the IM but whats the point using the IM on CS:GO when you already play it? It doesn't even work so I don't really understand why you ask this?

You can still use it then, I use my IM while playing other games that doesnt have VAC servers :)
