Simply? You do not. You run the risk.

That said, Valve cannot tell if you use it if you do not run it while on a VAC server. Any other time they cannot, nor would it be legal for them to, check your computer for what programs are on it or running. Thus you're in no danger if you make sure you only run the program when not using a VAC-enabled game.

Microsoft pretty much legally own your operating system. Steam would get itself listed as a keylogger if they did the same. It's a case of double-standards there :P

Companies like nintendo and steam and the pokemon company that are actually suprisingly bigger then microsoft do. (I don't know for sure that steam does but I know the pokemon company & nintendo do what microsoft do.) Also microsoft do not legally own the operating system, they own the right to the brand of the specs, but not the files or even the specs themselves. The reason they haven't been sued is because their way around that is having a option in windows 10 and later to disable that. Although the tricky bastards purposely made it hard to enable the option.

You are not doing anything illegal with Idle master, you won't get banned. But if you are afraid then don't use it, and launch the games yourself manually. It's that simple.
