It's not a one-click workaround, it takes a few minutes to set up and closing then reopening the app occasionally but it works very well, I use it when I have a large number of games to idle so I can idle them all simultaneously for as long as required instead of Idle Master doing them individually after 2 hours.
Setup takes a minute or two but it works effectively, I use it frequently as Idle Master can only idle multiple games simultaneously for 2 hours, then it idles them individually, but with this, you can idle all your games at the same time for as long as you need.
When you double click on the shortcuts a small window will open showing the games profile image. If no window opens, you did something wrong.
Repeat this for each game you want to idle. So again, if you have 5 games to idle, you should finish with 5 shortcuts that each have a unique game ID in the target directory.
Hope this helps some people out until Idle Master and/or Steam fixes the issue.
