IDLE DADDY SCAM!!!
there is an app on play store called idle daddy, it does the same thing as idle master. few mins ago a guy added and claimed that I won a giveaway.. He asked me for my steam verivication code and my paypal account so he can send me 300$.. Anyways who the f cares about my story. JUST dont use Idle daddy

BTW: Even if the dev wasnt who stole my password, his app is still not safe to use.

And Idle Daddy isn't based on Idle Master. The only thing I can think of is maybe the code that scrapes the badges page has some similarities, but overall the 2 programs are very different. Idle Master tricks the official Steam client into idling games. Idle Daddy fully emulates a Steam client via SteamKit and uses that to idle games.

Cute, another kiddie who uses the public code of idlemaster to try sell it.

Has valve been notified? They should be. Got any screenshots or anything to show valve? also they should be reported to google play store.

I took a look at the app it looks ok to be honest, the person who contacted you might not really have anything to do with it.

Im not sure if he was the developer, but im pretty sure that I got contacted after using the app for 2 days, I didnt log in with my steam account on any other site

I dont have anything shows that he is the developer of idle daddy, Its just what came first on my mind when I talked to him. Anyways I stoped using the app, Idle master is better

If that's the profile that tried to scam you then definitely report it to steam, button is top right [more] and report violation. But I'm not seeing the connection with Idle Daddy.

This thing is literally open sourced and you can come pair it to idle master some parts are close but others a very far away so how is idle daddy a scam and if your a kid just stop because yo r wrong

Well any code which was used which is taken from Idlemaster is theft. So there IS that. Additionally, the scam he speaks of was from someone else attempting it on him using Idledaddy as a proxy.

If you are in any way connected to Idledaddy, I will ask you politely to get in touch with Jshackles, the creator of Idlemaster. I believe that I-D likely owes IM money in some way shape or form.

Aside from that, do not namecall on my forum. This is your one and only warning, shape up Connor.

Not if it's open source (it is). So long as Idledaddy publishes the source code then they're ok.

And it's not theft it's copyright infringement, I hate when people call that theft.

Well, I do know how to get in contact to him and its open source and i believe thats permitted and you can check the code

Hi, buddy of steev here. It's worth mentioning that both Idle Daddy and Idle Master are both distributed under the GPL and have their source codes freely available for anyone to study from, modify, and redistribute under the same license and terms.

Even if Idle Daddy did take some code from Idle Master (which steev did NOT, they aren't even written in the same language) that would be completely fair with the license Idle Master was distributed under. With this in mind, the notion that steev might owe some money to Jshackles, or that his code is theft is completely ridiculous and against the spirit of Free Software.

Just felt the need to chip in, there's no good reason a hardworking dev and his labor of love should be named and shamed like this.

but idlemaster has been discontinued and tends to stop working for me alot, the only way to get it to work is to completly un-install and reinstall it, this has now become tedious to do for me every 2 weeks so last time i un-installed and didnt bother re-installing.

Lookign for a replacement, thats easy to use and does the job
