Black list the game. There's a button which pops up when idlemaster is picking out the games. Just click "blacklist" and you're good to go. Press the "next game" button to make sure there's no VAC games in the listings before you leave it to just run by itself.

It's reasonably safe. We've yet to get any bans due to using the program.

Just close both idle master and steam before playing any vac game to avoid 'vac error's. AFAIK you can idle vac games because vac doesn't run when you idle them(?) only when you play them for real. Just don't idle them and play them at same time.

...It's under 'filter by features' So you can filter your games down to just the vac enabled ones.
