That's all engine based last time I checked. But there is a plug-in for Source 2013 that makes demos work better from what I was told, and it should work fine with HLSU and HLS since they run on Source 2013

I have a question, Is there gonna be an option to record demo's in Hl:S update? the original's demo recording option is broken as all hell.

Weekly/Monthly Updates have proven to not be successful, trust me, we've done it with multiple projects. With Absolute Zero we promised Monthly Updates but ultimately it never made it through due to difficulties. On Left 4 Dead Zero we still continue to do Monthly Updates but it's slowly getting smaller and smaller due to our lack of time to focus on the project. Plus, Half-Life: Source Update is on hiatus currently until we can find time to put the proper time and focus onto it as it deserves. One of our coders is still testing stuff out with the codebase, but we had to start our code over again and Source 2013 has proven to be difficult to work with. Dead, no, our main focus, absolutely not.

As a suggestion, it would be nice if you had someone post semi-regularly (once every two weeks or so) with updates on the project. It doesn't matter if it's very minor or insignificant. If the community can see that some kind of progress is being made, it builds confidence. Good communication is always appreciated.

Just found this. Now I'm very much waiting for this to be done. I want to make maps for Half-Life, but with Source benefits. And maybe for DMC too. I'm not satisfied with the current state of HL:S. Please, continue your work. And I wish you the best of luck.

@Pinhead I never play Half Life with the HD pack, I don't like the bulky look of the weapons. I gave my signature on the page, and if english is too tough for you, I know spanish.

Hello, I compiled a list of every bug I found in a recent playthrough of Half Life: Source. I hope this can be of help to you guys who might need people to look for bugs. We should do more to spread the word on how broken the game is right now and how much the years of neglect have worn it down

@Mindspark, adding onto the TF2:BOA stuff, Valve was already working on a completely new TF2 concept by then (2003 and maybe some 2002?).

@Mindspark, Not only was TF2: BOA canned in 2002, it never touched the Source Engine, as it was completely scrapped due to play-testers not being able to get into the game.

and, all of the TFC to Source conversions are LITERALLY named "TFC".

@Mindspark, Half-Life: Source came out before Half-Life 2, so you're already wrong.
I've never seen any infomation on BS and OP4 ports to Source, including official statements and via dev files.
Valve's Team Fortress was 1997-1998, not 1999-2003, it was changed to TF2 by 1999, then canned in 2002.
You're acting like Valve really gives a ♥♥♥♥ about mods in-general. Plus, another reason was to show GoldSource projects can be easily ported to the Source engine, meaning they were just going to allow people to port the mods if they weren't going to port it theirselves.
Half-Life 2 and the Source Engine were done way WAY before Half-Life Source was done, as far as I can tell, Half-Life: Source started development in 2003 from creation dates in the leaked files.

-3rd.In addition to your stated "Original conversions", at the time, shortly after The HL:S builds were playable, they had planned to port Opposing Force, and Blue Shift also, but was postponed, so as to follow the hl2 Release, After the later Half-Life Source release in 2005, it was rated poorly to people who I guess wanted more than just a port,which I appreciated it.
After HL:S had negative reviews and low sales, they halted all further work on HL1 Expansion pack ports.
heck everyone know's it's as if to this day the buggiest and least updated valve game to this day, seems to only get worse.
In-Conclusion, RIP HLS,HLDM:S,COOP, And Our Demo files, never to be viewed again.

P.S I totally taught more history on HLS than hours of doing searches and website research.

4th.)! You said "the original plans of Source Conversions were HLS,TFC, CS, and DMC" , But you forgot that it was "Valve:s Team Fortress" at that time, (not a tfc port or any kind of a TF2, but the orignal, 1st, offical "valve's Team Fortress" game (aka BOH) that was a major focus and challenge at that time to get to work on Source1 for a port. It ended up taking too much time, and they never got gameplay and vehicles to work in the new engine well enough, and they then shifted their focus to css and HL2, and later polish up the newly called "TF2", not to mention they would have to remake all of the models again before a possible official release in order to look half-decently modern enough at the time, which by that time , it was more logical in foresight, to focus on the 2 main first release titles which would look much better, and take less time to finish. (CSS+HL2)

um... the latest Page Descrition stating "The Half-Life 1 Source YOU deserve" (ABOUT HALF-LIFE: SOURCE UPDATES) in the main group page description has multile errors.

-1st) HL:S was released in 2005, not 2004. (don't meant to be picky)

-2nd.)! HL:S wasn't ment to "replace goldsource hl1", there were, and are still, too many mods that would break/have dead mod issues that would be involved if that update would happen.

-3rd) Additionally HLS was one of their initial first goals early-on Mostly overall else, used to test for how portable goldsrc to Source would work out before moving forward on any further development projects.

No one knows, if we get accepted by Valve for an official update for HL1S, it would become Valve's choice and not ours most likely.

Uplink will be in HLSU, its been confirmed for awhile.
Also, Uplink isn't on Steam, neither is Day One.

It's a complete over-haul to Half-Life: Source, nearly built from the ground up. We're gonna pitch it as an official update to Valve Corp and hope they accept it, if they don't it'll be released as a mod, whatever or not it will be on the Steam Marketplace is up to debate.

We *might* of gotten the scientists to no longer break on changelevel, but I have yet to get it in a compiled form, and I can't compile it because I need to reinstall Visual Studio C++, since I got a new PC.

We rebulit the code base more than once, but stuff is starting to move foward, since we took a little break for a few months. Mainly so they could study up on how the GoldSource and Source codebase worked.
