Hello loyal users,

Hats.TF has not been functioning since the Manhattan Update for TF2 last year, and I haven't gone back to it. Why? I needed to focus on my main job and I couldn't put the time needed to fix and push updates.

It's never going to be fixed, because for the past few months I have been working on the successor. Using my learned knowledge of the WebAPI, as well as the populairty of other Valve games such as Dota 2 and CS:GO, I realized Hats.TF was just a narrow piece of my fuller dream.

I have been in talks with a developer who is far more experienced than me about the next generation platform I have always wanted to build. The scope of this project is going to be much bigger than backpack scanning, which for all intents and purposes, only was used to shark items.

Thank you all for trying to contact me about Hats.TF but I haven't responded because it's not really relevant where the future is going. My passion for making intelligent tools that enhance your gaming experience is still there, but I don't want to release prototypes or experiments anymore.

I hope you all had a good year, thank you for your continued interest, and look forward to 2015 being the year I finally get my ♥♥♥♥ together.

These past few months have been trying: moving some hundred miles south and preparing for a second move a couple thousand miles west later this year.

In order to finally release the Hats.TF that has been in development for almost two years now, I will be completing re-writing the bug fixes, enhanced sorting, and a searchable item database while marathoning LOST.

I anticipate that the final product will be done at the same time that I finish the acclaimed series sometime later this month, just in time for Halloween. The next time you'll hear from me is to announce the new site.

First, just updated version 1-2 which brings major stability improvements:

• Rewrote user backend to be more reliable with logins.
  
• Rewrote settings backend to make way for premium accounts.

Second, getting ready to launch Hats.TF premium features that you have all been asking for. You'll be able to subscribe monthly or pay a one time fee (equivalent to 10 months up front). Get your credit cards ready.

Noticed the problem many were having with the scanner was because Hats.TF was ramping up to 150MB of memory when my max alloted was 128MB, so the app would crash and restart.

Hats.TF is now running on double the power and memory: 1200MHz with 256MB. This should hopefully be enough to prevent the app from crashing every other scan.

Additional changes

• Added item origins to tooltips. If none shown it's a timed drop.

Just a few changes that went live (do a hard refresh if you are having issues).

Version 1-1

• Removed junk code for even faster scan results.
  
• Added a settings page. Now you can set your schema language.
  
• Fixed schema updates breaking the scanner for a few moments.
  
• Fixed the top bar dropdown links not loading content via AJAX.
  
• Schema and BP.TF prices now update every 2 hours (instead of 6).
