These rules cover both TheIsland and Valhalla.

General Glory of War Server Rules!

-Be respectful to your fellow gamers and admins.

-Game servers are for playing games. Game forums are for long discussions about the game (rules, settings, admin decisions)

-Admins are present to deal with obvious cheaters, certain in game issues, and server maintenance including restarts etc. They are not present to fix mistakes or poor decisions made by players or bugs in the game. We are all playing the same game, bugs exist for everyone. Deal with it.

-No arguing with the admins. If you disagree with a call they made, go to the forums and start a discussion. Continual arguing or provoking admins will result in a temp ban at best or perma ban at worst. Don’t do it!

-No racism. Racism will be dealt with harshly and immediately. This IS your warning, so don’t expect a second warning in game.

-Chat spam should be kept to a minimum. Yes chat is part of the game, but spam is not. We can set your group up with your own teamspeak channel if you would like. Tribe discussion should not be in Global chat.

Safe Base Rules!

Each Alliance is allowed 1 Safe Base only!
Your Safe Base must have a defined perimeter of manmade walls (spike fences work temporarily), with flags that must be visible from all sides of travel. Connected Structures are included if visibly flagged.
Flags do not define the perimeter, walls define perimeters.

- No raft safe bases

- Man made walls only (a canyon wall for example is NOT a safe base wall)

- Anything that can be jumped over by a human (from ground level, without the help of a dino) does not count. like Railing!

- a series of continuous dino gates is acceptable

- Each tribe should make a decent effort to protect their base. Flags are not protection, they merely announce to the server the base is not to be raided, however as in real life, there are people that do not follow the rules. Protect your stuff. Plant turrets and auto turret guns offer proper protection from cheaters. DO NOT cry to admins if your base is raided and you DID NOT protect it.

We do not want to see obscenely huge base perimeters; you may be requested to shrink the perimeter if you are blocking certain areas. (fun fact: we’ve yet to ask anyone to reduce…)

Places to NOT build:
- Floating Island (Valhalla)
- Carno Island
- Caves (in or blocking)
- Underwater Caves (in or blocking)
- Volcano bowl
- Volcano Path (on or blocking)
- Obelisks (around or blocking access)

Safe Base camping is not permitted.

If you are in your base and see people outside your base, you are able to fire upon them. Nobody is able to return fire to anyone that is within their Safe Base unless they have been forced there (drugged and dragged).

Do not grief people’s irrigation systems for their main bases, as it IS part of their base.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES UNLESS agreed by both parties are you to engage or enter a Main Flagged Base not of your own tribe.

If you feel there are players not following the Safe Base Rules, PRESS F12! Screenshots are your best defense against rule breaking players.

Tribes with more than one Safe Base will have all of their Safe Bases unflagged for a 24hr period, then the Tribe can place new flags signifying their ONE Safe Base.

Note: A 1 high wooden wall perimeter is frowned upon for extended use, upgrade them ASAP to avoid unintentional kiting and wild dino kiting.

Proper Flagging!
Proper flagging is to be done with any white flag

The flag engram can be learned at level 5 at the cost of 5 engram points.

You may have some colored flags but you must also have white flags to designate the base a "Safe Base".

The flags should be placed to be seen in every direction of approach, air land and sea wherever applicable.

Rules of Official Wars
When a player/tribe wants to declare war on another player/tribe, they must create a post in the forums as detailed below.

By default, each war lasts 3 hours unless both tribes agree otherwise.

Any tribe that has been in war has a 7 day grace period to avoid another war if they so choose to take it.

Also any tribe that has been in a war will have a reasonable amount of time to get their walls and flags (if destroyed) back up. Both war party’s bases will be safe regardless of damage for one hour following any war.

To Declare War ***Official website is down. Come to teamspeak to arrange wars with our admins***

You must make a post on our forum with the following information and formatting:

Date: Todays Date
Tribe Name : Name of your Tribe
Opposing Tribe: Enemy Tribe Name
Proposed Time For War: After 72hrs and before 7 Days of today's date

The Opposing tribe has 72 HOURS to respond. Any tribe that has not responded within the allotted time will be forfeiting their base's Safe Base status, in which the flags will be removed for 3 hours starting the time initially requested by the declaring tribe. Upon losing Safe Base status the base is open to raiding by anyone.
If you have had war declared upon you, please contact and admin or reply to the War Dec post to schedule a time.

The admin team has the right to call any war they are not involved in off.

If both tribes wish to set custom rules for their WAR, this is OK but need to be clearly outlined in advance.

If both sides choose the war to be over before the scheduled time, the war can be called off.

Any admin in a tribe during a war will have his/her admin powers stripped until the war is over.

PVP
PvP is allowed outside of Safe Bases at all times, including when not in a state of war.

Please try to avoid excessive KOS for no reason. If this gets severe, we may investigate griefing (an example would be killing randoms with no personal benefit).

Tranqing players in open world is allowed but keeping them knocked out for only cruel(one-sided) fun is not permitted.

PVP includes raiding/destruction of any base that is not a Safe Base.

Scheduled Absence
If you plan to be away for more than 3 days with no access to the game, please inform the admins so we can adjust or inform any tribes attempting to declare war against you/your tribe. Even with Scheduled Absences a war may still occur, but an Absence can be a reason an admin could postpone a war or the unflagging of a base. Absences scheduled after a war declaration will be ignored for said war.

No Griefing
This includes but is not limited to the following examples; random foundations to claim areas, walls around resources, repeated killing with no gain, camping spawn zones, and kiting dinos away from a flagged base. Placing turrets, C4 or any other offensive structures/items immediately around a Safe Base preemptively when not in a state of Declared War is considered griefing.

Griefing may result in a permanent ban.

A griefer is a player who deliberately irritates and harasses other players within the game, using aspects of the game in unintended ways. A griefer derives pleasure primarily or exclusively from the act of annoying other users, and as such is a particular nuisance in the community, since griefers often cannot be deterred by penalties related to in-game goals.

No Bird-Human pickups

Do NOT pick up other players with your birds that are not in your TRIBE!

As of v235 - Tribe Alliances - Bird pickup IS allowed for tribe members AND alliance members.

Press F12 if you get picked up by a bird to take a screenshot if you can see their name.

Other Rules:
- No turrets on Quetzal Platforms
