The Frontier: War with the French & The Savages

The Frontier with Indian Lands & French Colonies, December of 1756 | For nearly three years, since Colonel Washington’s skirmish in the Ohio River Valley, the Kingdom of Great Britain and her archrival, the Kingdom of France, have been locked in an armed confrontation along the vast frontiers of the continent of North America. For over a century, both nations have been in the business of settling the vast, and at times, inhospitable landscape of North America, as well as in the business of removing each other from this virgin land. This virgin land which us self-made Americans now call home. Although we are Englishmen and British citizens, this America is our home. Our diverse history in only just over a century on this continent has begun the process of an identity for our new people. Our kindred blood, common faith and language, and well-regarded principles requires our loyalty to the Mother Country, and so we have demonstrated in this war. Our colonies united have risen nearly 25,000 men, just as much as the British Army, in this grand conflict to combat the French from the shores which are rightfully ours. Not only must we remove the French from these shores, but also must we civilize the savage tribal natives which have inhabited this continent before our forefathers’ discovery and consequent arrival for permanent settlement. It is required of us for our very survival in our home to liberate our acclaimed lands, and remove those from the infestation of the tribals, and as such we shall do.

A List of Grievances: The Relationship With Great Britain

Albany, Province of New York, June & July of 1754 | Almost three years ago, with the start of the frontier war with France and their native allies, the Crown, in cooperation with the leaderships of the individual thirteen colonies, organized what would become the Albany Congress. The Congress was formed to organize the Colonies in this time of war, to pool resources and other such material and create an efficient leadership for the colonial forces in the war. However, what would come out of the Congress, proposed by Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, is the Albany Plan. The Plan lays out the principles behind and rationale for a union of the thirteen American colonies. Although the Plan was rejected by both the respective legislatures of the Thirteen Colonies, who saw the prospect of a central government over them as an imposing idea. The Crown rejected the Plan based on the possibility of an increased political and economic influence and power of the colonies, wishing to prevent what may be inevitable: Britain may one day live in the shadow of America. The latter’s population is growing much faster, as well as her economy and power, which Britain wishes to stem. The rejection and abject principle behind the Crown’s decision has deepened the list of grievances maintained by the colonists in their relationship with Great Britain. The Colonies and the Crown already maintain a difficult relationship, and wounds have only grown deeper after the obvious attempt to stem colonial power after the rejection of the Albany Plan by the Crown.

Prussian Aggression!

As many know, Saxony's army and treasury has fallen into Prussian hands after a fierce battle outside of the city between the two armies with the Prussians having a surprisingly smaller army than would've been expected but it still outnumbered the Saxons by a fair amount, ending up beating the Saxon army and capturing the majority of it. It is also rumored that the captured soldiers have been conscripted into the Prussian army's ranks to fight for them, something that has outraged the Saxon people whom see it as a severe mistreatment of their people! Dresden has fallen to the Prussians but the Saxon spirit has not as Frederick Augustus II, the Elector of Saxony along with his family has escaped this pre-emptive strike by Prussia and has safely arrived in Poland where the Elector is known as Augustus III of Poland. He and his family shall use their estates in Poland for refuge from the war until their home is liberated from Prussian control.

A King's pleading to the Sjem

King Augustus III of Poland shall make his attempt to plead to the Polish Sjem to join in their war effort against the treacherous Prussians whom have invaded Saxony. He understands that it may seem that Poland has nothing to gain from joining this war, but in the case of victory...who knows what could be gained for Poland? Perhaps more lands or a greater share of the war spoils that would be sure to come if they did join in the war and win, with most of the spoils going to the honorable members of the Sjem, of course. King Augustus III makes this plea to the Polish Sjem, not because he wants to, he does not wish to bring Polish men and women at un-neccesary risk of bloodshed but because he feels that he must try. King Augustus shall honor and respect whatever choice the Polish Sjem makes in this matter but he sincerely hopes that they may march to war against the Prussian dogs nonetheless.

(The secret) Expansion and reforms of the Army

Preceding the campaign in East Prussia, Empress Elizabeth has initiated the expansion of the russian army. Eight regiments of light infantry are being raised and trained, to reinforce each army by two regiments.

Further, the russian military continues to reform and modernize as time goes on. The first step taken has been a revision of logistics on the russian army, as skeptics don't believe the army capable of supporting a war so far away from the motherland. Whatever problems can be solved before the planned offensive will be, or so the enthused officers say.

Last, but not least, was contact with the king of Kartli and Kakheti. Having declared independence in the recent past, these georgian kingdoms sits sandwiched between three powerful nations. Already, diplomatic overtures are made to the assurance of their independence. This may prove useful for future military endeavors on the region.

Of course, this is all kept secret from the public and foreign powers. After all, who would inform their enemies of their moves in the battlefield, and outside it?

Economic expansion under Elizabeth

Elizabeth's luxurious court requires imports of exotic fruits and more. The demand has increased the need for better roads, which is consequently causing the buildup of those.

Overtures in Poland

The current Sejm of Poland, sympathetic with the cause of Saxony and its allies, will allow Russia access through Poland and support it for the duration of the Seven Years War.

With Europe en feu for lack of a better word and the Prisons of France over flowing, a programme d'immigration has been set in motion to help deal with the problem. The programme is rather simple the over flow from the French Prisons are sent to Pondicherry, French India for a pardon or forced labour depending on the level of crime and time they have left. The Middle and Higher class are also invited to come to French India with the promise of a small farm or plantation.

Improving life in the orient
In the Orient life can be very but with hard work hard times will come again no more with the building of roads, underground sewers and removing of Indian slums to be replaced with Canton's for the Indian population that will be small but nice brick homes, with the basic exigences met in full. Farms and Plantations are being built ready for the new French arriving in French India

To remove this Churches are being built in every part of French India in the name of the Catholic Church they will not only teach the ways of god, but also French this will help to remove the segregation and language bar. The dastardly Prussian menace have dared to launch an invasion into the Electorate of Saxony! With confirmation that Prussian troops have indeed crossed the border, France now considers itself in a state of war with the Prussian state, alongside our Austrian and Saxon allies. Most gracious King Louis XV has denounced King Frederick for his decision to side with the British dogs, and it has now become clear that the war will not merely be isolated to the colonies, and will spread to the continent.
