if you want a complex colony / city / country / whatever-the-hell at that point game that is actually coded well and doesn't run like garbage when you inevitably install mods to alleviate the game's many issues, try Workers and Resources

Also, you don't have to engage with the gambling whatsoever, you can play the game without ever spending a penny or touching the gacha, the game's dispense system allows you to get characters for free. But of course I wouldn't expect the concept of financial responsibility to cross the mind of a Rimworld player

Rimworld vanilla is terrible and needs hundreds of mods to be good, but then using said hundreds of mods then makes the loading time terrible. The code is appalling and Tynan is braindead. The DLC's are overpriced and the coding is SO bad that you can bypass the need to purchase them entirely with a single line. It's laughable how poorly designed it is. Also, tell me you haven't played for more than an hour without telling me you haven't played for more than hour. "Auto-battler" my ass, maybe for the first chapter SURE
