Sure thing. When it comes to Halo , I think the big step could be the Installation 01 , which is supposed to be an open source free, fanmade game, available for all platforms.

I still love the Halo universe as a whole but sadly as long as there isn't any news about the PC releases I think I'll quit the group (because I need some cleaning and for IRL personal reasons)

Hi, Tenderized. I play both Combat Evolved and Custom Edition, as well as Halo 2. CE is still supported, but there weren't any digital release, so obtaining a legal copy may be a problem. The biggest mod for Custom Edition so far is SPV3.1, which is a complete overhaul of CE. New version is currently being developed. For Halo 2, there is a Project Cartographer, which restores multiplayer. At their site you can download full patched game installer for free. Some consider this piracy, but there is no way to play this game legally since the closure of GFWL. There is also Eldewrito, restoration of Halo 3 multiplayer based on cancelled Halo Online. Microsoft DMCA'd it for using copyrighted content from Online. But it is actually still going and living if you manage to find the files somewhere else.

If you wanted to get along with the classic Halo on PC, the instructions in the group descriptions are for you. The game is well maintained.

Hey everyone been playing Halo since early 02 and finally got to finish the fight in 2018, since I never owned an Xbox 360 or any console after the original until just a few months ago. I'll be getting a One X probably by christmas to play MCC, Halo 5 and Infinite next year. But damn do the 343 games suck so far. But anyways, do you guys play Combat Evolved, Custom Edition or both?

Same with me, Combat Evolved typically I get to 120 degrees, but with other games, such as Doom 3 that we are both fans of, I go with 100~105 degrees.

I dont think mine is that close. Most of my games are set too 100 or 120. halo is not squished on my 16inch screen thank the pc game gods!!!!

Fortunately on PC there is an option to customize the field of view, otherwise it would be no-go for me. Basic FOV is 65 degrees? Hardly imaginable.

Good game. I believe by "Halo CE" you mean "Halo Combat Evolved" instead of "Halo Custom Edition". Although Custom Edition can be downloaded for free, when it comes to multiplayer, I stick to the basic Halo Combat Evolved, known also as Halo PC. Custom Edition basically means Halo for pirates. But there are some good mods basing on it.

@Ikagura, allright, I also own the PC-CD of Combat Evolved. I am new to HALO alltogether but have been discussing over Waypoint a bit, nonetheless, not entirely a place for myself. If you have a server, we can play sometime, actually seeking some few people for an Oddball match. Oddball is best with handful of players, 3-6 I guess is fine. Most popular games on multi are Slayer [Deathmatch] and Capture the Flag, which can get a bit off with those heavily modded maps.
