It depends. btw, Sid is called this way for a good reason. In the cartoon this character is a kid who is breaking toys in cruel ways.

Ok so testing branch made dx9 working....in 5-10fps. Gotta take a look if I have the headers and nvidia libs for the correct kernel (5.15.0-2-amd64)

Devuan is pretty good. Might be an issue with Debian's package of NV drivers. Likely is, because Devuan doesn't maintain most of the packages.

meh I'm giving a shot to the testing branch see if it's gonna fix anything and if it doesnt I'll swap back to artix

I can't give you much more advices here, cause my experience with Nvidia's proprietary drivers is very limited. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yea no nouveau for me is 10fps simulator for all games so it's not an option for me. I switched from Artix (because I heard that devuan exist and wanted to install and try that thinking it would work like charm as debian did in the past) to scraching my heads to problems that shouldn't be here :s

You might also try nouveau route, depending on how fresh your GPU is. I have a system with Nv GPU and was pretty surprised with how good nouveau works. Can't say much about games, thou.

I learned that the package "nvidia-persistenced" isn't that much required (why it's still a thing since Beowulf?)
But dx9 doesn't work for titles like Killing floor for some reasons

Ask N0v1dya, why they don't want to open their drivers/publish specs. Linus stated his opinion on that quite clearly. :p2chell::teacup:

That would be the plan for a new pc, no need to remind me linux does perfectly well x)

Not to enter into the opinions i'm on X but I think I got the solution, but first I need to do some testings

Nvidia is a bad choice for Linux overall. Stop buying those, I guess?
Also the reason might be Wayland instead of X11. Don't use Wayland, it's another RedHat/M$ corporate garbage like systemd, PulseAudio and JackAudio.

for some reasons even with nvidia driver install my games run slowly. First time it happen in 3-4 years of using linux. Any idea ?
