@Richard DV I use Adobe Premiere CS5 for that, it allows you to set a new project with the resolution you need.

Thanks for the info, but I don't mean for capturing, but for putting it as a square gif. How does one do that? Might be a stupid question.

@Richard Overwatch I've used LICEcap [www.cockos.com] to capture the gif and then optimized it in Photoshop. It needs to be under 2.5MB (or something). I also had to dispose the frames (a setting in Photoshop's animation timeline). For the 'good' part, that depends on your game. You want it to reflect your game, draw attention but still not be too disturbing. Generally small loops below your games logo are cool, or even simple blinking eyes can do the job.

No greenlight game from me yet though, I'm still finishing up a contract on an Android game so my game is only in the concept phase and won't be ready for submission to greenlight for several months :(. However you can check out some of my previous work on Heroes over Europe (I did a lot of the graphics programming) or the iPhone game SubTub (free) that I did under contract.
