Note that weapon that have backpack models (like the Medigun and the Buff Banner)will not have custom backpack models.Only the weapon you'll be holding have models.

Actually they can work, you just need to set the baseclass of the weapon to a different weapon, like the parachute or invisiwatch.

They do work, but the weapon model is not visible (probably because they are boots) but it is visible with backpacks and other models.
I'm not so sure about custom weapon models though.

Wow we never think about this :D And isnt it weird for parachute using tf_weapon instead of tf_wearable ?

Because the plugin used is not coded for weapon using classname with tf_wearable and creating a new type of buildables

Yes.But it will most likely hard to do since the attribute need to coded
