GFWL just ruined batman for me

Waiting for a representative from GWFL, listening to the most cracked up hold music I've ever heard for the past 20 minutes. My username and password is correct but never recognized in my games, rendering them unplayable. I'm never buying a game with this garbage again. Nothing but a waste of money.

dear god i hope not. Dont ruin Max Payne, such a good series, by forcing the stupid gfwl crap on the customers.

Rumor has it Max Payne 3 will be a GFWL title, still waiting on more solid confirmation.

Just a heads-up in case anyone doesn't know already (I didn't... oops), Dirt 3 uses GFWL and is unplayable without signing in (won't let you save progress). avoid it!

I bought Lost Planet (on Impulse) and I've not even played the game because of GfWL because it took about 15 minutes to fire up the game - that's not including the time it took me to find my username for GfWL which doesn't automatically get filled in from some other game I've played that's crippled by GfWL.
9.36: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ windows live took 1 minute to check my username/password combination
9.37: GfWL demanded a serial number (for a game I had bought on impulse) and it wasn't clear where I got this from.
Clicking on the button "I need a serial number" caused a dialogue saying it would start the windows live game client so I click ok then I get some disc activity for a few seconds, then it brings me back to the same serial number screen I was just at.
♥♥♥♥ knows whats going on. I just want to play this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game I bought yesterday. I try this a couple more times, is this a bug? The same thing happens again and again. OK maybe this isn't what I'm meant to do. Why doesn't it tell me?

9.38: Maybe I already have the serial number in impulse. alt tab, View Registration? OK that gives me a serial number. Type it in. Seems to work.
Game for Windows Live wants to update itself or it will sign me out of windows live - great so its holding me hostage against possible achievements or whatever. FOR ♥♥♥♥'S SAKE I JUST WANT TO PLAY THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME.
9.39: Update completes, game restarts, have to go through the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ start up logos again. Why do I have to restart this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game just because ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games for windows live can't auto ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update along with the rest of windows?
9.40: Update finished.

9.41-9.46: I'd better make a note of how ♥♥♥♥ this is for future reference.

9.47: Back in the game, click Start. WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥? A games windows for windows live dialogue pops up? Alt-tab to the game to quote the text from the windows live dialogue.
WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥ THE GAME HAS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CHANGED MY KEYBOARD TO AMERICAN SETTINGS? WHAT THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥? (possibly not windows live to blame for this)

After I clicked that windows live sales pitch dialogue, I had to reenter my username and password, even though i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clicked save them both the previous time I logged in.

i agree. gfwl is a piss poor failure of a DRM system and it smells so bad my nose wrinkles every time i walk past game. i want it to die a very fast but painful death. why does steam allow it if gfwl are technically in competition with them?

This group is unneccessary. GFWL makes games pretty much unplayable, so nobody buys them as much already :P
