Oh yeah check out Cyberpunk Ghost Stories instead. It's a far lower cost indie game. And the womens in the game look amazing compared to the androgynous Western women of 2077.
Or try Vampire Bloodlines 1 instead.

As for the Galaxy, correct, it's a DRM. GOG has it's flaws, but sadly GOG fanboys don't want to listen the voice of reason. Maybe after CyberPOPS77 some of them would start thinking with their heads.

GoG has Galaxy DRM now. I can't play my games unless Galaxy is installed so I chose to stop buying there as well.
I can't play Master of Orion 2 (1996) without the DRM Galaxy. A DOSBOX game for F's sake. They lost my trust with Galaxy.
If I uninstall Galaxy my old school games will not launch. It's DRM.
You want NitroBlog/NicoBlog or Steamunlocked. Considering how much food and gas costs these days I think it's time for game prices to drop significantly.
And besides the game studios will be bailed out with your tax dollars no matter what they do. And they get huge tax breaks. They are stealing from you if you work a real job.

They greedy companies wanted to make games digital so you might as well take advantage of it and be greedy like them.
Keep in mind these elites running these companies pay no taxes. While you have to pay taxes to bail their failing woke companies and reward spoiled investors who zero work in this world.
Get rid of publishers and business suit boardrooms and we could have great uncensored, affordable games again. With real female characters like Japan still has.

I don't care about having to launch Uplay when I play it FROM STEAM. What I hate more is forcing to either strictly use Uplay to use the games, where that is the ONLY PURPOSE, no community, no screenshots, nothing. OR.... Epic games.... which is 100% never gonna happen. I know they WILL be on Steam on day, I just dont want to wait 5 years to play Valhalla or Extraction...

Hey 6 years later and I can finally play Anno 2070 !
I tried again in December and still had crap with Uplay.
Today it is actually working...

You can get games on disc from about 2010 and earlier. Unfortunately PC discs ended before console discs.
As for digital there's Nitroblog and Steamunlocked where you don't even need an account or credit card. I wouldn't pay for a digital film or show either lol. FMovies/9anime = No account, adblocker works, no charges, Disqus comments section.
But I'm kind of looking for Baldur's Gate on disc with all the thicc manuals. No accounts required for that game.

Can we still get hard copies of games? - the only hard copies I have are Freelancer (cd), Dune (Dos floppy version), The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall (Dos floppy), Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Dos Floppy text game)

I'm simply done with paying for digital copies.

Ubisoft customer support for uplay is the crappiest I've come across so far. Refusing to move games from my old account across to the new one because I have too many games.(the old account was locked out and it took them 10 months to fix it).

Why would anyone buy Ghost Recon? It's a MtX simulator.
Trying playing old school DOOM with mods. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Or maybe Wolfenstein 3D. If you want online play Battlefront 2 from LucasArts on GameRanger service for online. LucasArts Battlefront 2 is still the best singleplayer and multiplayer shooter ever created. No MtX, no paying for stats, no paying for level ups, no f'ing paid skins.
I really hope you torrented Ghost Recon at least.

Look for a mod to disable it. Google - "Disable Assassin's Creed IV UPlay."
Recently did this on something for Resident E 5, and XLive for Fallout 3.
I literally can't load Fallout 3 without disabling XLive. That's ridiculous.
Thankfully I'm an amateur modder so I know how to do these things.

Which I often find at a lower price shipped to my house on disc!? It's easier to work with disc copies. I would hope AC IV would come with a game map like old GTA games do, or Skyrim.

DRM is awful for the consumer in any form.
I commend P3rsha for making a wise consumer decision. No reason for this DRM to be hogging up any hard drive space on our systems. It should be optional, that's fine as a social platform.
But by accepting it now, soon they will force a PSN/XBOX fee on Uplay. If they haven't already, maybe they have. Would not surprise me at all.
I will not buy games with intrusive DRM, unless it's older and I know it can be completely disabled. Lord Gaben bless the modders for making this possible in many games.

If they sell their games on Steam - they MUST NOT require Uplay.

I don't understand you guys, i don't like that much Ubisoft cause they kindy ruin so much games that pretended to be awesome, but they have also good franchise, even if they are ruining them with some opus, i don't understand why boycott a compagny that have bad and good games just because they wan't their own platform. I agree it would be better with only steam, but uplay is not an inconvenient. So if you just can explain me with true points what is an inconvenient of installing one time uplay to play ubisoft games ? Because "We don't like it", "We don't like being forced" is not really a true point, that's like little kids, "Say hello to your grand-mother" "I'll do it but that's not because you told me *angry face*". After thought i've made my mind and uninstalled all the concerned games.

Hey everyone! I discovered the U-Play platform when i bought my (not for long from now) current graphic board: Assassin's Creed IV was offered with it.
Later I bought several games on Steam, unaware of their "link" to the Uplay platform. I was not very happy with it.
However i still have not played all of them, and would be eager to do so. Then i have like a morality trouble here, you may guess: to be really honest with the boycott policy (that i 100% agree), shouldn't i play them or not?
What do you think? If you were me... what would you do?

Hi guys, a few years ago I saw (f*cking) Uplay for the first time when I played a game of Ubisoft. I don't know what game it was and I don't if Steam even already existed or that I used Steam.

In the 32bit era I loved Anno 1602 from Ubisoft. But now I am trying to play Anno 2050 and after an annoying proces to get in I was able to play it. Now, after two days of playing without problems, I even can't login to Anno 2050. I didn't change anything...and my network connection is perfect. I even can look around for another games on the Uplay platform......

I don't get why I can't play...is the server of Uplay not working? Is something else stuck down?
Why the **** does a company like Ubisoft create such an annoying platform ??

Piracy wouldn't be a problem if games weren't so over-priced in general. From 2010-2017, gaming seems to have evolved into an exclusive commodity for spoiled rich teenage girls who want to visit digital shopping malls and buy clothes for their game characters. Then even get on forums and defend this practice as if it's good for us, the customers. Clearly this is more important than development of the gameplay itself. Shiny graphics and graphics DLC, no real substance or game.

Half of modern AAA titles are borderline animated movies it seems, for $100+ I'm done with it, and bulding my retirement savings. Maybe if I was a game dev or greedy publisher employee, I would be able to afford modern games. Playing Diablo 1, Age of Empires 2 classic, and NES/SNES emulators instead.

I disagree even with DRM, it prevents even paying users to play the game once it "decides" by flawed methods that you're a pirate when you are not... meanwhile people who have the cracked version of the game are playing it.
