The Dome Shine Fund thing was a bit misguided. It would have been better for members to individually approach me for help getting Dome Shines, with my resources, theirs or a combination of each. If it happened now, I wouldn't have did what I did in March of 2011. Even people who are okay with the hat existing are welcome in the group. I guess I wasn't comfortable with all of them joining en masse like that; I expected and prepared for a gradual stream of joiners. Probably shouldn't have done it anyway. Let's just say I've learned some lessons.
I wish I could have organized more events, but the group is still quite small. It will probably be this way for a while longer. Maybe if I planned events and posted about the group elsewhere that could change, but I'm fine with things being quiet right now.
Hopefully things will pick up in the future. Maybe I might even be the one to do that. We shall see.
Do I win the prize?
As for my goal to get one or two dome shines today - that's a no-go, i'm afraid. It seems Texas Slim's Dome Shines are worth a refined (according to a quick look-see through TF2tb), and I have no hats to trade, so it'll be a bit before I can find one. Rest assured I haven't given up.
