Steam Virus going around!

If you have recieved a message from one of your friends saying WTF DUDE blahblah.com/img102.jpg or something similar please do not click it. Going to the site downloads a file, if you open that file it will infect your steam, get your information, and send this message to all of your friends! If you have been victim of this please reset your steam information so you don't lose your account! I have personally recieved the message from friends 5-6 times so this is something that people are doing. If a friend sends this message to you please inform them to change account information!

PS. The most recent windows update should fix this problem. However still be carefull when opening files, like always!

The Purge lag is fixed!

As many of you know we have been having some lag that is quite frustrating on the purge server since we moved to the new dedicated machine. I have been working a ton the last couple days and we finally figured out what caused it! Those of you who have been frustrated with the lag can now enjoy the server that performs better than ever!

Now that we have moved to the dedicated server and fixed the lag issue we can start working on adding more things to the server the next few weeks. We have some fun things setup for you guys. Come join purge at purge.whatgameserver.com!

Moving to new dedicated servers!

We have moved from a VPS to 2 dedicated machines. For those that want to connect to the new servers IPs look at the servers in the steam group, or type connect purge.whatgameserver.com to connect to the new purge IP.

What does this affect?

This means purge will lag less now and we will be able to hold more players. We will be doing updates to purge and we know some things are broken on the server as of now, please report any bugs that you find to the forums right now.

This also means that we got rid of our lowest 3 population gmod servers(murder, prophunt, and jailbreak). We did this to concentrate more on the servers that we have no finished working on yet, and we plan on opening these back up if enough people want them and if we polish them up from there previous state.

But moving IPs is annoying, why is this move actually good?

Our new dedicated servers will be able to hold a lot more players each than our 1 vps before hand. That means not only will purge be able to hold more players, it also means that the other gmod servers will run better. We had 1 l4d2 server previously and we plan on starting up 3 soon and we can do that now with our new machines! Since we have 32GB of ram on one of the servers we plan on starting a minecraft server soon as well! We have a lot more room to host a lot more servers which is good for everyone!

This move might have caused some bugs on the servers so please report them on the forums and thanks for reading. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. This is an awesome move for our community and I am very excited to be moving forward with WGS!

Today we had about 2 hours of downtime to edit some things on the server.
1. We are back to RPrint as we have solved the problems with them.
2. Better ATM machines as we purchased the addon and updated it.
3. A really cool meth cooking system that we have balanced to give you a fair amount of money.
4. Since we have fixed the auto-restart with our server host the server has gone back up to 60 slots instead of being limited at 40.

Things to see in the future: New FAS weapons being added and a new F4 menu that we need to configure before adding to the server.
