Switch from Vanilla to lightly modded

Evening everybody,

I've switched the server over to modded to hopefully attract new players, these mods are designed to make it easier to get established and for people who don't have the time to play as often.

These mods include:

x3 gathering
Instacraft
Sleeper protection from animals
Better stack sizes
No decay

Other mods may be added as time passes, open to suggestions. Best of luck, and see you on the server!

Server issues

Afternoon everybody, last night I had a bit of trouble updating the server; as did a lot of others that used Gameservers as a host for their servers.

Basically Rust uploaded the new build to Steam but Gameservers had a delay in obtaining it themselves, creating a two hour delay in an update roll out.

This has been happening frequently, for example: on Thursday when new updates come out, the server doesn't receive these updates instantly, there is an hour delay give or take.

Also the server had been kicking everybody, not crashing, but disconnecting everybody, an issue which has since been resolved.

If the update roll-outs aren't fixed or at least sped up a little bit, I will look into changing hosts at the end of this wipe cycle.

Some notes if the server does change hosts:

The server name will remain the same and nothing will change except for the IP address, so if you connect manually I will post the new IP address.

The server will not switch hosts unless absolutely needed; and if I do change hosts, it will be at the end of this wipe cycle, meaning you will all start fresh regardless, just on a different host.

Another thing also; if you need to speak to me, I'm generally online around 3 PM GMT until quite late, and if you need to speak to me, you can use the website (located in the group, and in the server description through the Rust Client) if you click contact and use the contact forum, I will receive an email and we can speak there.

Alternatively, and for better communication back and forth, you can add General Skittles, the steam account is located in the comments, with the link posted by this account, and also it's here, too.

Lag issues

Heya all, I'm aware that in recent days, especially today, that there has been quite a bit of lag on the server, this is a problem with the hosting company at the moment and a lack of optimisation with the latest update Facepunch has rolled out.

I have created numerous support tickets with these companies and hope to have the issue resolved as soon as possible.

Thanks for sticking around in spite of it, I will post an announcement when I have more information.

Hey all, I'm switching over to my General Skittles account, The Dito account was shared between me and my brother, so I have to revert to the other account to not mess up his profile with a load of people constantly asking him about the server.

Below under mods you can find it, the mod on there was originally Thea, as I was busy working for a few days and needed the extra help, I'm now back however and have full control over the account.

Dito will however stay admin of this group for the time being.

For any questions or help regarding the server, please add me on the General Skittles account as you will not be accepted on Dito.

Hey all, as you know the forced wipe is tonight by the developers and a new devblog will be released.

While the server updates, it will be down for around a half hour while I make some tweaks and changes to the server files.
The new graphics haul update is due tonight and this affects the server seeds for procedural map generation, so any seeds I would have previously generated would likely not be accurate, and this is why I didn't do the vote I mentioned last week.

As I tweak it there might be some downtime but I will do my best to keep this minimal, look forward to seeing you all after wipe!

Hello all,

Due to a lot of new people to Rust joining the server I would like to post some general information regarding wipes and why & when they occur.

On the first Thursday of every month the developers (Facepunch) release large updates that require all servers, (not just this one, all, including modded, community, and official) to wipe.

A lot of servers, with higher populations, wipe bi-weekly. This is the admin of that server's choice to wipe like this.

On Trinity the wipes are exactly as it says in the server description, "No wipes except forced"
This does not mean the server will never wipe like a few have been led to believe, it simply means that I will never manually wipe the server unless I am forced to.

I hope this announcement clears up any confusion regarding wipes and if you need any help or have any questions feel free to message me.

Endgame kits and a vote to determine whether they should be a thing.

Hello guys, below is a link to a poll to determine whether endgame kits should be a thing before the forced wipe. All will be gone, so why not have some fun beforehand?

It is totally up to you guys, it doesn't affect me in any way, I just want to hear peoples opinions.
I will leave this poll open until the second day before the wipe and then the majority's decision will be in effect, this is not permanent however, a poll will be created each wipe as new players often join and would want to vote.

The server is your playground, and you all should have a voice in regards to how it runs.
