I agree with cobra, whenever I'd try to RP as a terrorist and find other terrorists to group up and rp with, I would have a really hard time locating people.

Problem with the BIG maps, is spreading your playerbase out thin. I'm not saying just clump them together in a room and force them to RP, just don't have it so RP is hard to come by when you're not on the Army's side. Example, I've had trouble in the past finding good RP on the Terrorist or Independant side, as there never was really any communication or interaction apart from circle jerks, mainly due to the size of the maps and people having their little hideouts. I mean, realistically that makes sense but when you're an RPer that isn't in the circles it's kinda... Ehh. Just based on experience from D:F and a few others, btw. Not saying it will be the case here.

Well, it depends on what you're looking. (Almost) Any RP can be fun, so long as you have good company to do it with

Being too big will be a problem, as different players will want to go to different places, and it'll be hard for new players to find more interesting RP than just standing at the base on guard duty, which NO ONE likes to do, because it's boring as ♥♥♥♥. So maybe a medium sized map would be best.

I don't really consider maps being too big a problem, since it's really up to the players where they are and the extra space can always be used in some way like events or whatnot. If a map is too small though, there isn't really a positive side other than the fact everyone is forced together. And honestly, for me at-least, it's less about the map and even the concept and more about the actual people; if everyone just thinks it'll be bad it probably will be, and vice versa

Well, depends on the version of Ineu Valley to be fair. Original is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insanely big.

I don't get what's good about Oasis, there is no room there to do much of anything.
Like, just standing in the US base you see half the map and the actual map is just a base and a small settlement which are walking distance apart

I find that Oasis is good for starting off the server, but then once we start actually doing stuff it just gets a bit too small.
