Busy but good, Thor. Weather here is almost identical to the weather in Jhb. Of course its the start of summer here and the start of winter there...

How have you been?

The one thing I liked about the TUS server was the mod that allowed you to switch infected. Added an extra tactical element. No one wants to spawn as a boomer which caused ambushes to fail dramatically. Can be overpowered at times too with people being able to spawn Chargers in areas where kills are essentially guaranteed....I forget...have I mentioned before that I *hate* that "feature" of the game? :P

I never like the gun mod though. Personally felt it was glitchy.

The TUS server would be useful for hosting custom maps but we will need to set it up. However, as a vanilla server we have other ones to cater for us.

I occasionally use the TUS server but wouldn't miss it to be honest as have found L4D2 to be more fun au naturale and without mods.

I agree that we need some more co-op goodness. L4D2 is not dead but may be in a coma as there are only a regular few that play (I secretly agree with Monkey's comment below but can't say it out loud or it will give him a big head).

I have been having fun playing COD MW2 but it doesnt quite have the co-op feel i want (i call it shooting or being shot by teenagers) and was very very disappointed that my BFBC2 experience was ruined by technical problems so that I have lag no matter what.

I'd love something more coop myself. Have not tried Borderlands yet, it looked awesome in previews, but reviews have been pretty mixed.

As for the interactions in The Passing, the conversations are pretty amusing, but they could have gone so much further. Basically it boils down to some talk at the start, and a bit at the end, and a few comments from your guys in between.

I didn`t think Borderlands was very good myself.

What we need is a new co-op centered game (don`t ask me what though) or a revival of L4D/L4D2. Then again I have not played the new DLC yet...so I don`t know if a revival would be worth attempting.

BC2 can be alot more fun and satisfying with a squad that communicates, most of my annoyances with it seem to be from the lack of teamwork.

That just sucks even though there is new content coming out.

Guess its back to Counter Strike and DoW2 for me.

Pretty much, yeah. Still see a game on once in awhile but its essentially dead.

A pity, I miss the teamwork and the community.

BC2 doesn`t have the same team play feel L4D did. Once you get all the unlocks it all feels kind of pointless. I even started doing stupid things like knifing only to make things challenging and fun again.

I was considering getting MW2 while I`m in the UK at the end of the month (for the better prices). I think I`ll eventually run into the same "pointlessness" feeling there though.

We need a new proper co-op game. The community is too fractured now though.

C'est la guerre, guess I`m returning to my Single Player roots for now.

My 10c worth is that I will probably be getting BFBC2 as next months game purchase. COD MW2 is just not really doing it for me as it is to run and gun orientated and I am hoping that the char selection options in BF will force more squad based play. But then again I am an old school game and like games like Rainbow 6 and the original Op Flash so what do i know.

After careful consideration, i have to say that i still prefer MW2. I just wish they put a little more effort into Battlefield... it could have been so much better. The idea was brilliant... the execution, not so much. Once you get accustomed to the fluid, smooth, gliding control of your character in COD, BFBC2 just seems immensely disappointing :/

But thats just my opinion...

Are you sure the new l4d2 DLC is paid??? As i heard the PC DLC is free, but Xbox is paid?

Punk Buster giving you trouble Thor? I had the same issues last night. Got it right eventually. Here is a detailed point by point method, highlighting things I did wrong:

1. Get the pbsetup from evenbalance.com .
2. Run the executable.
3. On the top left of the window there is a button labelled "Add Game". I missed this myself initially. Choose BC2 from the list.
4. The next thing to check is that the "game path" is correct. It got it wrong on my machine, so I had to change it manually.
5. Once you return to the main window, hit the button "check for updates".

That should do it. Something to note. Last night (Sunday night) when the update occured the SGS servers kept kicking players even after updating. This seems to have been a server problem and came right eventually.

Obviously we will also be appointing ne admins depending if you were naughty in the past, so Uncle Dexter and the other uncle's will have to see if your name pops up as being naughty. :)

So we are all in a kind of agreement, we cannot save all the souls of L4D. we need to make a decision and stop worrying about what dress to wear. NUDE is fine by me ;). Joke. Anyway w.r.t the TUS server, i will be more then happy to do swop from L4D 2 to BF BC2, I just don’t want to do it and everyone gets their panties in a twist. SO LET ME KNOW.

The cost however is going to be more but I don’t mind fetching the bill as long as the server is used. I have been playing online BF BC2 and its very busy. U from time to time wait and if you loose connection u ******. SO I think it would be wise to start a 16 player server and then later depending on the demand swop to a 32 player. REMEMBER CHILDREN COST is the main word here, I’m not going to do it if the usual 4 or 5 or 8 only players. And I’m sure most of us that know one another would love OUR own server.

Agreed 100 % Steel, although if i can stop being kicked by this stupid punkbuster :( grrrr, anyone know whats the fix for this is, another poor example of EA rushing games out and not doing testing properly, no joystick support , makes me thing think they ported the game frm console to pc and did not put much effort into it. None the less it still looks like fun and judging by the online fan support i think the game will be around for a long time.And Ruri, come on, medics are always needed:) , u know u want 2 :)

There are 2 problems I can foresee with The Passing (The new L4D2 campaign).

1. This is just my opinion so it gets to be the first point: by the time it arrives it`ll be too late. If it arrived tomorrow it would probably *still* be too late.

2. This is the biggest (and I think most damning point): Its going to be Premium DLC. Which means we`re paying for it. Which, in turn, will further split an already fractured community.

Its time to be brutally honest. We need to find alternatives. It would be nice to move the community to BC2 (since I was persuaded to get it after much hesitation). :P

It may be hard to face but we won`t be able to save the whole community but better some of it than none of it.

Right. Enough doom and gloom from me. See you all in game. Give BC2 a try, fun as hell.

I am happy Steel is a very good respected player and BFBC 2 is swarming of NOOB so called snipers, now perhaps the "Steel" may show how a sniper operates. To all other members that have helped me and the administrators to build L4d 2 TUS server a big Thank you m8'ts and ladies. I’m sure we are all looking forward to the release of the new L4D 2 map, but somehow somewhere our gaming flame has died :(

We are trying dif games etc but that flame just died. My best part of the day is opening my friend’s box and seeing who is online it’s like a kid waiting for a Christmas present. But most of us have been together for a very long time, and maybe we should start deciding what we going to play or are we just going to stay as is. I personally LOVED BFBC2 Single player, but the multiplayer is something to get used to. AVP on the other hand, well that is up my alley.

Than spending money on take away food. save ur money and buy this game lol. Guys i hope we can all re-unite in this game. L4d1 days wer the best. clannies wud be awesome in this game. so every1 plz try and get it. Its awesome.cheers

lol steel. Guys bfbc2 is epic i tell u. It kicks MW2's ass by miles. and atleast it has dedicated servers unlike mw2. there are many local sa servers. and tons of sa ppl. ii played 1 mission on single player then i said let me try multiplayer. OMG!!!! i cant stop playing online. rofl

I`ve said before that I have never been a big fan of battlefield. Its not a question of money. I need to be *convinced* to get it.

What I need is a MW2 fanboy, who also has BC2, to give me a comparison. If that person says the game is good enough that they will be making a long term switch...it would go a long way to persuading me.

So Thrash and Agent have the highest game times in MW2 on my friends list. Here`s your chance to convince me...I`ll probably talk to you two and Legend over the weekend at some point. Just a heads up. :)

Well peer pressure forced me to buy BF:BC2 :-/
