either will work, but i prefer 6:00
That is all.
JK I GOT ME A FEDORA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
And the new knife unlock is exactly how I said it should be since updates started. Just want to make sure you know that. Don't ever forget it.
How are we feeling about this update? SPUFers are raging pretty hard but I'm cool about it.
I should be good for a Wed or Thurs game as long as it is not Oct. 11, 12, or 13 (Wed).
Hate to be a huge hypocrite, but with our first game being somewhere during the week of the 3rd, I won't be able to make the saturday (homecoming dance).
I'll leave it up to you guys as to what you think we should do... try to find another day or just have someone sub spy. Would a Wednesday/Thursday night game work?
Oh, and our first game will be on badwater and dbowl. They updated it I'm guessing and now the gravelpit/upward game is for the first matches after the group phase, which is what we're in for the next 3 weeks. I'm sure everyone will be familiar with the basics.
ETF2L finally announced the official start of the tourney today, so expect a game soon. Still getting in touch with the other leaders.
Also, I can usually plan to be available, especially when I know of something coming up. If things are not going on though, it would be nice to know that I would have our usual game time free for other activities.
Other than that I suggest everyone just keep playing, stay in (virtual) shape, and play a few highlander lobbies if you see them. You all have the ability to make announcements now too, so feel free to arrange mini-practices or whatnot.
Please remember these games coming up will not be like the ones before, you WILL need to make them once the times have been decided. Sudden spontaneous paralyzation? I don't care. Wild guitar lesson appears? Je ne care pas. Joining this team was making a commitment to roughly the hour or so these games will take. Just make sure to LET ME KNOW ASAP about scheduling conflicts so we can all agree on the best time.
That aside then, I am genuinely looking forward to our first game. :)
If you don't already know, we've been secured a spot in the tournament, in group #191. Head here http://etf2l.org/high/provisional-groups/ to check it out.
You'll notice team Scar is in just the group below us, and NVG down in 199. It's likely we'll be playing one or both of them.
OtakuScott from scar also just sent me this link, thought it was pretty funny to see this moment from their perspective (it was our 6v6 vs them that one time) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q3TXbETmzj8

Sub 1 - n0va (buddy)
Sub 2 - Psycho
Sub 3 - chillice
Sub 4 - Dark
Updated roster. If you've been moved to sub, its probably because of a mix of too little communication with me, too low attendance, or timezone constraints. Talk to me if you want a specific answer. I encourage you to stay on as a sub, and subs can of course still attend practices, but I understand if you'd rather leave.
I also had to remove two of the inactive subs due to team size limits.
The game that was in planning for tomorrow has been cancelled, which means we may end up with another night of practice. Hopefully we'll at least have a full team by then.
**Disclaimer: Match Details Follow, if you are not a TRAHP member please do not read this**
As far as the actual match goes, as a support class, there was not much directly I could do to help, though our Engineer and our Pyro need to practice. Team on Team, we need to select points on each map where we can rally the troops so we can send all 9 of us at them at once.
Our current squad (Offensive) is
A: Heavy + Medic, Pyro.
B: Demoman, Soldier, Scout.
Support classes: Sniper (Selective based on what is happening) Spy (Wrecking Engie) Engineer (Build a god**** teleporter)
I reccomend sending A squad in first, and have them focus on killing, not capping, while B squad rush the point. We kind of rushed it, popped our uber first, then died in a bloody masse' when it faded, and our B squad was without cover and got ripped up.
Regarding practices, I'm looking at making it a regular thing every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, the same time as what we've been doing. PLEASE let me know ASAP if these days, or the times don't work for you. We can replan and time it so we get everyone in attendance.
I think the mains problems were:
- Foreign server. With only 1 member of our team during that match based in europe, the ping issues were definitely pulling us down.
- No shows. 10 minutes before the game began and we still had 4 positions to fill. A third of our team during the match weren't actually team members. Not good. Thanks to those who let me know ahead of time that they wouldn't make it, but the others should know that there is roster change coming up soon and this will be taken in to account.
- It was our first game; with strategies being made during the 30 seconds of setup time, of course things wouldn't go precisely to plan.
How does the same time this Sunday work for everyone then?
Also, pic is a placeholder until someone who knows how to use anything other than ms paint steps forward ;)
