What about progress now?

I wish Source was less buggy and better documented...

...but it doesn't work like that.

Next time I start working on this again, regularly and faithfully, I plan to find a modeler to help with inspiration. It's distracting to shoot cans and melons (grenades and mortars) from a crossbow, however humorous.

What about them? They'll be added if that's what you mean; the feature made the game unique. I'll try to make the gameplay as close to the original as possible. When I first started, I measured out the scale ratio and made a list of weapon stats to use. In the mean time, I've lost track of the paper with this information. Probably nearby, just unseen.

On a side note, the growth of this group is inspiring and impressive as I've not advertized it anywhere.

Not recently, but I have not given up. Tribes 2 is a fantastic game that should be resurrected, but Windows is troublemaker and is fighting me every step of the way (recently lobotomized two hard drives and a flash drive) and Steam is being insufferable as usual, even from a fresh install. Considering switching over to the Unreal engine.

In other news, my current project has been consuming most of my spare time for the past several months. It's coming along well, and when I reach a good place to pause, I'll have a look at this mod again. Have become much more fluent with C++ in the mean time.

There's a Source SDK update tomorrow, so I'll probably tinker with the new goodies unless Valve breaks everything again.

Tribes 2 Source, for real? Is this still being worked on?

Hope to see this sometime! :) Keep up the work!

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Right now, all the work that needs to be done is on my part and I'll be swamped for the next two months at least. Really need some free time.

This was the most fun game ever made in the history of anything ever made. If I can help in ANY way I will gladly.

Not much of an update, but:
...the chat window has been fixed thanks to the Jailbreak: Source dev blog.
...something broke itself real good and I'm getting a lot of errors I never got before. Gives me an excuse to backup existing changes and download the updated mod source code. Shouldn't be hard to re-implement what I've done thus far.
...and I think I have an idea for the chaingun of how to get around Havok's velocity limit (what I think is heavily biasing velocity vectors). Unfortuantly, it's hardly optimized.

Until I sufficiently complete another project I won't be working on this nearly as much as I'd like to. Plus, Windows is about to make like the Hindenburg (again), so I might go back to Linux for a while.

Very, very slowly. I'm combing through the source code as best I can, but there's not much explanation for anything anywhere. The weapons were easy enough to figure out, but there's other little problems I have with each of them, such as sound. When I fire a weapon, the "fire" sound plays, but stops at once when the "reload" sound plays. I don't have anywhere to go to get a quick answer (I'm not willing to ping Valve with emails all day with little stuff). I'll just keep poking the metaphorical bear until it cooperates or I lose my head (both ways).

I do appreciate the support though, much thanks.

Wait...is this still moving? I'd kill to have this game back up!
