Just stopped showing ANY windows.
When I try changing online status via the notification icon menu, I see this:

How do I opt out of Beta without visiting the UI which I can't visit now?
UPD0: Just remove ~/.steam/debian-installation/package/beta file.

UPD1: Yes, they broke it badly in this beta package. Deleting that beta file and restarting Steam Client forces it to roll back to the latest stable release, which works.

UPD2: Build 1708129125 fixed this problem.

beta is the best version to use, but the bug that has to be re-fixed is the prompt for changing download location (which also requires the Steam client to restart)

Could you please read the How do I opt out of Beta without visiting the UI which I can't visit now? part? If only it showed me the Settings UI window, I wouldn't be complaining about it here and just opted out there already.

LOL, you saw the UPD0 line about removing the beta subscription file. I mean, you could see it all, and you just ignored it. I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.

right!? epic is out for 5 years... i ask myself what the ♥♥♥♥ they are doing there. not that i mind, but how hard can it be to copy the community part of steam. or even make the friendlist usefull in any way. you can't even message there, even less leave a message or comment on your profile...oh, right, there are no profiles either... pathetic platform. i love Unreal Engine 5, but the rest is just :slugpoo:.
