Same here. I have a clip 1 min 51 sec long that will not delete. I've tried reactivating background recording and deleting there but still nothing

Same here, the device was not responding to the Steam+A to stop recording, then crashed, now I have a recording that cannot be deleted. Other recordings are fine and can be deleted.

I just wanted to add, this is on a Steam deck OLED 512 GB that I purchased a few months ago. I was recording Elden Ring when the game/recording session crashed. I have not had other problems with the game crashing.

I've had that issue on my Deck for several months now as well, I've had the same error that blackManic had multiple times and the option to delete it doesn't work anywhere. The only way I was able to free up space on the system was to delete the entire "video" folder from the gamerecordings menu after quitting Steam but even then I can't remove the entry itself.

This is a really strange bug and I hope it'll get fixed before release.

Lol I got this on the stable released. Game crashed while recording on my steam deck and now I can't remove that background video from my media.

I had the same problem and I was able to fix it. Just go into desktop mode, then follow this path /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/userdata then look for gamerecordings folder and delete all files under “timelines” as well as the “video”.

The correct ones are in the “clips” folder so no need to delete them. Hope it helps.

^this works to free up storage but it still remains as an entry in your library

No Solution

Still no solution. Steam is saying there is nothing they can do, just need to keep posting in the forums to find a fix

I just changed the recording time to 120 minutes (the default time), it worked for me.

For me it did work but it still pops up in my recordings and photos 😭
