Steam Game Recording Lag/Stutter

I just wanted to give this feedback as I noticed it whilst watching a recording I did for Age of Empires 4: Definitive Edition.

The overall recording was okay, but the cursor seemed to be at a much lower framerate than the rest of the recording, and anything the cursor interacted with caused mild stuttering and overall framerate drop.

None of this was noticeable during actual gameplay, it is only visible in the recording.

Happy to perform more testing or provide example recordings if necessary.

Ive been getting this as well and it happens whether GPU Acceleration is enabled or disabled.

It's not immediate either, the longer the recording goes the more out of sync it becomes. The first 1-5 minutes or so will be perfectly fine.

Noticed the same with the cursor only when playing Balatro.

Having the same issue in DCS world (I do have it running as a non steam game though). Awesome tech, cant wait for it to get more polished :)

Since it's no longer beta feedback, but it's out now. Yet the cursor issue seems to persist in some games.

This seems to be related to using a hard drive as the recording cache. Switching to an SSD solved the problem for me.

Steam, the game, and my recording folder are all on my M.2 SSD, but I still get the choppy mouse cursor in the recording. And only the mouse cursor, the rest of the game looks smooth in the recording.

Try running the game in borderless windowed mode if you can and see how that works for you
