Steam Library Always Scrolls to Top when Moving Between Library Elements Only

This is a problem that I've had for many months at this point, and it's crazy that it hasn't been addressed.

Whenever I click on a game in my library, then click either "library" or the Back button, the client scrolls the library all the way to the top of the list, rather than where the scroll bar was situated when I clicked that game.

The interesting thing is, it's *only* Library elements. If I scroll down to the letter R in the library, for instance, and then click anything in Community, the store or in my profile drop-down, and then click "Library" or the Back button, it *does* remember where the scroll bar was, and sends me correctly back to the letter R. The scrolling to the top only happens with other library elements exclusively.

On latest Beta branch, happens on all of my machines. Please for the love of God fix this.

Bump. Come on, Steam. This is insanely annoying and I can't believe it hasn't been addressed.

This was something that worked for literally a decade. Now it's broken. Please address it.

Just want to chime in and say this has been an issue for many months and still not fixed :C

Looking forward to the day I randomly update Steam and realize it's fixed :D

I swear I might fall out my dang chair the day that happens and have a heart attack... 911, where's my life alert !

Makes no sense how it hasn't been looked at. Seems so trivial.

new Beta update, still no fix to this.

really disappointing how this is dragging on.

Bump again for posterity's sake.

Huge update for Steam today, including the video re-encodes and a revamped store.

Still no fix for this issue.

I almost regret buying so many games - it's a real nuisance to browse my library and has been for months now.

I honestly had expected this to end up fixed much sooner than it is taking. We may be here until 2026 asking for a fix lol. And yeah I dealt with it for a time (all we can do lol), now it's just a drag trying to scroll through all my games...

exactly. I have a large library and I actually don't browse it as much anymore - as clicking into a game I haven't played to look at further details means I've doomed myself to the top of the list when I return to the Library page, no matter what.

very annoying.

Edit: 10/14/25 - Is it fixed? Just restarted my PC and started up Steam again. At this very moment it seems fixed. I do not have much hope it'll stay this way lol

Edit 10/16/25 - yeah no it seems perma fixed for me now yayy!!
