Pretty sure I lost about 7 or 8 years worth before I realised...

Luckily most of mine were junk: I have a habit of spamming the screenshot key 5 or 6 times in a second or two, with the intention of picking the best one and discarding the rest (which I basically never get around to lol).

I just lost almost all of my uploaded screenshots because the manager now deletes uploaded ones from the website and from the manager. I often do 'select all' and then 'delete' because it was a quick way to delete all screenshots I didn't want, and it would leave the uploaded ones in the manager (which I actually didn't like) and it couldn't delete ones uploaded to Steam. Now it deletes everywhere.

The screenshots themselves I still have because I don't rely on Steam folders to save my screenshots, but to have the manager remove them from the site without warning (that I saw) when it didn't used to is messed up.

I wish I knew they made that update sooner, just lost hundreds of beautiful screenshots I uploaded before and today too :C

this is happening to me rn and i even recovered the screenshots from the bin , what the hell is this how do i stop it

Just deleted all my screenshots to clear up some space on my ssd, "believing" those in the steam-cloud were "safe".
No warning or info, whatsoever and the screenshots were deleted from my disk and the cloud.
WTF is wrong with you VALVE? Maybe let chatgpt try to "programm" the steam client for ya.

Same here. I lost years of history with the click of a button. It used to be convenient. Select everything and delete from the drive, but not from the profile! And now what? I no longer feel like taking screenshots, knowing I might accidentally delete them whenever I want to clean up the drive.
