In today's update we learn that Stardew Valley will be launching with only the singleplayer at first, with the multiplayer coming as update later down the road. Singleplayer will be a full, feature complete experience by the time it arrives. There is still a little more work that needs to be done, however, so the release date is still unknown at this time.
