I thought about it for many weeks and can't see myself going about another halloween-themed tourney. I prefer someone else to host the next one and wish them success with it. I also have none else planned for the future as well as attending any either. The idea I have entertained about being active in tourneys have wilted over time as I have expressed some of these feelings a while back which have not changed. Again, good luck to the next host, it should be a fun one if someone else covers it.

I support this decision. Adam (and I believe others in the past) have left due to the tourney being too long. Unfortunate they have to leave, so bumping the time an hour earlier to help prevent these things is a good idea.

Welcome to my second Halloween tournament. I'll be using Epona's rules to cover most (if not all) of this event.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, October 28th at 7PM UK Time (GMT +1:00) (the same time as previous tournaments - check the event post Here to see the start time for your own timezone.

Anyone is free to join, just write a comment bellow to sign up.


Rules/Information

1). This tournament will have normal and boost races. 20 different tracks will be played in a set order (look at the bottom of this post to see the full tracklist).

- First round will be 10 tracks
- Finals will also have 10 tracks.
- A bonus track will be chosen if results are tied between 2 or several more players.

2). Qualifications for the Finals

- 2 Lobbies = Top 5.
- 3 Lobbies = Top 3. The 10th spot will be decided by points, or a tiebreaker will determine the last qualifier if needed.

- Tournaments generally last around 2 hours and 30 minutes on average. Please note that any more rounds would extend it by quite a bit.
Please note that, in my experience, the tournament can be difficult and slow to start up, as many people (since we come from all over) live in different timezones and many not show up quite on time - I ask that all participants try their best to be patient and understanding as we begin to set up the tournament, and do your best to show up 15-30 minutes ahead of time to expedite the process. But once we get going, it should go quite smoothly.

3). The host of the lobby will start the next race as soon as everyone has picked a character or else the maximum waiting time is 5 mins. If for some reason you are not ready, please leave your character on random and/or mention it in the group chat. These 5 minutes will also be used in case someone disconnected to give them time to rejoin the lobby.

4). Hosts of the lobbies have the responsibility to take screenshots of the results after every race.

- This is so that if someone disconnects/network error/crashes or has to go, they keep their points. BUT other participants can help too, as sometimes the host misses a screenshot.
* In the event that a person or persons crash during the course of the race, they will be awarded the points earned by their respective bot. HOWEVER, if 5 or more players experience a network error/crash (or if the lobby agrees by consensus), the race can be restarted (even if already completed - in this case, the points of previous race will be disregarded, and only points from re-race will count).

5). Sign up deadline is TWO (2) hours before the tournament begins.
* If you sign up after that, you are NOT guaranteed a spot unless someone doesn't show up.

6). Be ready to deal with S-Class A.I.
* Their scores do not count but their driving/items will SURELY affect the outcome of the races!

7). Steam chat will be used to communicate.

- If you're not in the Steam group chat for whatever reason, the host will assume you're not ready if your character is on random, but if you already picked a character, the race will start after 5 minutes.

8). If enough hosts are willing to, there will be a room for those who did not advance to finals. That is so that everyone can be ranked in the tournament, or else only the finalists will be.

9). The Slotmachine is allowed to use for both normal and boost races. Be sure to collect as many coins possible before the event starts.

Final notes:

Please be polite to others. Nothing more, nothing less. Things such as bumps, lag bumps, glitches and yes, falling cakes can happen which can dictate the outcome of the race. Incidents like these are difficult to avoid, so please be prepared for this.

And lastly, since this event will be near Halloween, feel free to put on a different persona on the day of this event.
