Breeding tips
BIG tip, now that they fixed when you can clone berries like you could hemp. To get your initial set of clones, I would set up a few crates first, then plant berries or hemp in every slot in your planter. When they hit the Sapling stage you can then clone them all. Right clicking lets you clone them the easiest way. (May have to hold the right button then left click to pick the clone).

Since you can pick these clones so early now in the growth cycle for all but potatoes, corn and pumpkins, it makes getting a large supply of clones to choses from very easy.

This also changes the fastest way to cross-breed. I go into that in the bottom section, Speed Breeding.

Follow the Breeding guide on this youtube video but also look at the additional tips below.

Cross-Breeding:
https://youtu.be/I5w0KAqkHYI

In the following tip section, I will refer to the 4 corner plants as donor plants and the center one as the recipient.

Repeatedly using the same donors: As long as the donor plants are past their pollenating spray, you can plant recipients. You can even pick the first crossbreed recipient clones and plant a new recipient, keep repeating just replacing this plant until one of the donors die.

Once you get a pristine set of clones, only plant those in the planters using the corners. Save one in a vault. As you get more, you can plant them all in same planter but don't add anything else in there unless it is a different crop like putting potatoes in with the pristine pumpkin seeds.

Don't risk messing up a good seed until you have several clones stored.

Speed Breeding:
For Berries and hemp only, plant the recipient, preferably a fast growing seed in the middle pot on a large planter. When it hits about 60% of the Sapling stage, plant your 4 or more donor seeds. (I use 4, rarely 5.) I put them in the 4 corners. I think this helps them not crossbreed if you let them get to that stage. When the recipient in the center hits crossbreeding, you can see the result. Clone as soon as you can.

Now that you have your resulting clones, you can then either leave the donors in for them to hit crossbreeding stage and revert to the original method to xbreed more or you can pick the clones right after the recipient was crossbreed and move on to your next round of breeding.

Farming Setup and Watering tips
1) Fill planters up using jugs first. To fill them, stand on one corner facing the diagonal corner, squat, and look down then dump jug. This way you can get all 4k into that one planter. Do this wrong and you can get a lot less water in it.

2) You can set barrels on the roof or use pumps, either work fine to deliver water. I have 4 Large Water catchers outside (2 actually under grills and they still seem to work). I have them all connected then pump constantly running to the barrels. [BUG] The big issue is the flow of water from Large water catchers is 6, not the 12 it shows, only 6 ml move through the pump even though it shows 12. It looks like 24ml move using gravity between barrels on same level.

3) I saw a video showing to only use 3 sprinklers over the intersection of 4 large planters. This was ok, but I went one better. Place large planters in a 2x3 matrix, on either side of the middle 2, add one more so you have 4 across the middle and 2 above and below. The lay it is like a plus sign with 2, 4, 2.

Place the 3 sprinklers above the exact middle. With the splash over, water hits all the 2x3 fine, the 2 on the sides get some but should be watched. I only splash more water into the sides when they get below 7k.

Update: This is the best one I have found so far, 18 planters in 3 groups of 6, I place 1/3 wall between the groups to prevent splashover. 8 lights, 6 sprinklers, 6 heaters if needed:

4) Set the sprinklers on a timer. I have a timer loop that turns the power to the pump on a minute and off a minute. This watered 50% of the time. I wanted less, so I added a timer into the power line to the pump. So even though the pump is triggered on, I control the power in, currently at 20 seconds of the minute the pump is on. I split the trigger signal going to the pump to also trigger on this new timer providing pump power. This can easily be changed up to the full 60 seconds if needed.

I have found running this way, sprinklers running roughly 16% of the time, keeps the planters fine. I occasionally trigger the pump power timer on again a few times to push extra water or splash with jugs in the intersection of the platers to spread it amongst them.

5) Fertilizer is easy to come by if you just pick up after horses. Add that, it is used slowly.

6) Ceiling lights can also be spaced out, thanks Q. Put one above the middle of the intersection of 2 planters. Some time I may try the 4 corners, but in the plus shaped layout, 4 work well. I use windmill and a large battery. Power isn't an issue then.

7) You can mix other types of plants together but I would only do this when just growing food. Also, only use one gene set for each plant to make sure it doesn't cross-breed before producing. This will let you pick some clones still if you need more.

Here is a way to limit wasting water. The long timer resets the short one. The short timer is how long the water will run. A long timer of 3 minutes and short of 45 would mean that within every 3 minutes, a 45 second run of the sprinklers will occur.
